It's been an exciting and productive few months on Stage 32 for me. I taught my first lab, "Writing The High Concept Feature", which was great fun and very fulfilling. I think the students learned a lot and not only will they have very effective scripts as writing samples and to try to sell, but they also acquired skills and knowledge that will aid them as they try to tackle the beast called Hollywood.
I also found a script that was submitted to me as a "First Ten" read, that I now plan to try to set up and direct as an indie, hopefully this fall! So while I continue to caution that submitting your scripts and pitches for feedback here is for educational purposes, there's always a chance it will strike a chord with a reader!
Finally, I was at San Diego Comic-con to join with the producers, director, and star, for a panel celebrating the 10th Anniversary of SHARKNADO. It's hard to believe it's been a decade since our crazy little fish story took the world by storm and turned all our lives upside down. It's been quite a wild ride, and the SRO attendance at the panel just reminded us that the fans continue to enjoy and support it. I'm eternally grateful.
I'm available for Script Consulting, Career Development Calls, and Reel Reviews (look for me under Horror/Thriller, Action.Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and Comedy.
Good luck with your writing!
