A suggestion was made to me after posting a question on the Introduce Yourself Lounge, to come to this lounge and ask my question. I want to create a proof-of-concept for feature project, and I have written several drafts that seem to be confusing to readers who know nothing about the feature.
I'd love to hear from writer-directors who decided to make a proof-of-concept and how they approached creating it. I know it needs to be a short standalone film. How should I alter my mindset to create the script that will be both a standalone short AND relate to the feature?

I've done storyboard videos and always straight from the script. The opening image or longer. The power here is to give the viewer a sense where the themes are going. The scene where the main character is introduced is obviously a main attraction.

If ure mostly writer I'd say better call for references and recommendations of the people you've worked with (especially if known)...doing a reel on your own spec will cost a lot, and there's no money back guarantee on that...
