Confessions of a Hollywood Writer & Actor | John Leguizamo

Oma Stanescu

Wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

Maurice Vaughan

John Leguizamo is a great actor, @Sherri ZImmerman. He said in the video he read so many plays. I haven't heard of actors and actresses reading plays (besides the ones they get cast in). But it makes sense. Writers read scripts and plays to get better at writing. Actors and actresses read scripts and plays to get better at acting.

Suzanne Bronson

@mauriceVaughan I read a lot of plays. That was a tip I got from an acting prof in college. Taking acting in college you have to see plays but I also read a play a week on top of the assigned. I still read plays. OUT LOUD

Maurice Vaughan

That's great, Suzanne Bronson. Reading out loud helps me with writing/rewriting scripts. Do you read plays in different genres?

Sherri ZImmerman

Maurice & Suzanne...

very interesting... I DID NOT PICK THAT UP MAURICE... thank you for pointing that out IN THIS CONVERSATION of this podcast...

John and Alex both say in so many words here in that part of convo,

how THE REAL GREATNESS OF A SCENE COMES through when the actor is given that ROOM TO TRY OUT a few things though its NOT that good, and then suddenly FINDS THAT MAGIC and IT TURNS OUT BRILLIANTLY... more than the director could have EVER envision it!!... because ITS that higher intuition that comes through...

Suzanne Bronson

Yes Sherri ZImmerman that's what I love about theater. Directors tend to be actor orientated as long as you remain true to the script. My understanding that in television especially, directors don't usually allow for an actor to explore choices. That is the beauty of rehearsal.

Yes Maurice, I do read all genres. I consider myself a dramatic actress. The classics are "easy" to me. Dramas like PInter, Shaw, etc I love. A comedy, well comedies are hard. There are so many balls to juggle that is the struggle.

Sherri ZImmerman

WOW Suzanne, I JUST READ YOUR PROFILE and LOVE what you wrote!! SO great to hear how you expressed your deep connection to THIS world of entertainment!! AND I HAVE TO SAY, since I do pick up on photos ever since I was a child... (and stepping into people's homes and picking up what's there)... immediately, I felt that YOU are very very "tuned in" which for ME translates as VERY PSYCHIC... I cannot imagine YOU have not had any deep experiences your WHOLE LIFE in this area... If you have never tried the healing modality called REIKI, I suggest it... NOT JUST FOR YOU to get it done BUT ACTUALLY MORE that you have the gift ... greatly.

YOUR HANDS and energetic field, has so much to offer those WHO NEED the healing of ALL KINDS...

AND see you are a grand empath... which often means YOUR BODY ENERGY TYPE needs a lot of down time and quiet reflection... to keep your energy intact. LOVE TO SEE if any of this resonates... and ALSO HOPE one day to get a REIKI session BY YOU!! THEY ARE GREAT TO RECEIVE... and GIVE.
