In the 70s I was a vigilante in the streets of NYC. In 79 when they got a mayor who was actually trying to stop some of the crime, I decided to call it a day. Still wanting to fight, I became a professional kickboxer. (youtube, check out "The Brawl at the Taj Mahal") Once I was rated one of the top 10 fighters in the world, I became a keynote speaker for an anti-drug program and started to speak in schools. After one of my talks, the principal approached me with, "You've got to write a book!" So, I did, then I wrote screenplays. I have a total of 12. The first was a trilogy based on my life in the streets. It's properly named, "IN AN INSANE SOCIETY,..." because life in the drug infested streets of NYC in the 70s was crazy!!!

Hi Jerry Smith! So glad you're here and thanks for sharing! Have you gotten feedback on any of your scripts or taken the leap to make any of them yourself?

Great to have you in the Stage 32 community Jerry!
Hey, Jerry Smith. I've already heard your story, but it's exciting hearing it again! Can't wait to see IN AN INSANE SOCIETY on screen!

Emily, yes, I've had feedback; very positive. At one point; greenlighted, then my father died and decided to care for my mom. She passed a few years back, then the virus, then the strike, etc, etc.

Thanks Maurice, seems like one thing after the other is pointing things in the wrong direction. Although I have been writing. Up to a dozen screenplays now.
My condolences, Jerry Smith. You're welcome. Hope you find the right producers and production companies after the strike. You're doing the smart thing. Getting scripts ready to pitch. Like Stage 32's founder, RB, said (paraphrased), "Whose getting projects ready now will be ahead when the strike's over."
