Hello, Stage 32ers, When I learned about the story of Harriet Jacobs, I knew I had to write a screenplay about the extremes she took to hide from her so-called master, to desquise herself as a sailor, to sail to New York and work as an activist/abolitionist with Frederick Douglass.
