I am from Derry/Londonderry in Northern Ireland, but, currently, now live in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, United Kingdom.
My query is :
"Is it too late at having another try at trying to get in to the Film ndustry at the "grand old age of 62 years of age", ( if i may mischievously, self-deprecatingly, describe myself in this way, and with greatest respect and reverance to anyone already in the Film Industry, who is the same age as myself..).
I certainly feel and look very young for my years, and i am fit, healthy and well, and very energetic in my current job in the Hospitality Industry, where one has to work long hours, work very, very hard, and earning very low wages ) .
Additionally, if it is still possible to get in to the Film Industry as an absolute beginner at 62 Years of age, should i reside in the United Kingdom, or should i consider moving to another country to improve my chances of success, and if so, which country in that instance, should i ideally seriously consider moving to ??.
I shall be most grateful for any advice with regard to my above-mentioned career dilemma.
If anyone shall like to offer me any advice, please contact me via my Email Address as follows :
Thankyou very much to everyone with Stage 32..
I look forward to your replies with most enthusiastic anticipation and curiousity.
Thankyou again.
Yours sincetely,
Ernest Dougherty.

Ernest Dougherty I’m sixty-six and still working towards it. As long as you have the passion and the creativity to go for it, why lock it away and then be haunted by the ‘what if’ of life.

Nice to meet you, Ernest Dougherty. I don't think it's too late at having another try at trying to get into the film industry at 62. I've heard of older actors starting late and getting their big breaks late. Here's a list: www.insider.com/celebrity-who-became-famous-old-late-bloomer-2018-4

Maurice Vaughan my favourite late-bloomer, Maurice, was Sydney Greenstreet.

It's never too late! Age is not the factor here, it's your ability to tell a story well. If anything, age and hopefully wisdom follows. Life lived and lessons learnt. Meeting interesting people and travelling widely should give you a world view that a much younger person may yet develop. Keep going, tell your story, get some experts like some on here to evaluate your script, when it's good, release it into the wild and see what happens.

I am glad you also live in this beautiful town of Tunbridge Wells. I'm glad my family moved here. A friend shared with me https://mytunbridgewells.com/family-adventures-tunbridge-wells/ a lot of interesting information about events in the town. It will help to spend more fun time with my family.

Hello! What job in show biz were you thinking about? With the popularity of zoom and all, we can all be anywhere for meetings. Way back my parents decided to move from Hollywood to New Hampshire! They would just rent small places if they came back to Hollywood for a show. Or the show paid for a location housing. I think you can work it however you want. Be willing to travel but keep your home base. A great business for all ages.
