With actors attached or not to your feature film, have any of you ever been successful in getting pre-sales numbers (LOI) from distributors to help secure funding from investors or companies like TPC or BondIt?

Its difficult to make an accurate sales projection without cast unfortunately. If a deal is done and a big star attachment is made later, the sales deal will be very undervalued and can upset financial partners. On the other hand, if a sales deal is done based on big stars being attached but they don't come through, usually distributors will have a clause saying their deal is conditioned on that level of cast or equivalent being attached and will then have grounds to back out entirely.
