Hello, from the great state of North Carolina, where old hippies go to retire........Well almost. I am new to this and the world is my oyster and I have foung the pearl.I am here to connect with the world of animation, and looking for advice and some direction. I am the original late bloomer, but time has given me a slightly tilted look at the world and I transcend all those thoughts into humor and creative writing vying for my chance at redemption. Thanks to all to allow me to intro myself to others who love the craft.

I recieved a letter from Dreamworks in December of last year and it requested a script written for Snyder the Spider and at the time I had no script or even a story line. It was a self published coloring book and I also recieved a letter from MDL Films as well. I got a grant to write a story line and get a professinal team to bring the script to a proper format with MDL.and currently is under final review. My question is two parts. The first is ,is it okay to Query other film companies with the script, and how do I reconnect with Dreamworks if the first company does not move it into production?I want to ensure proper etiquette when it comes to this. I don't want to get nyself blackballed right out of the gate. It is quite the conundrum. And I don't know how to proceed..Any advice?,thanks in advance.

William Rogers Hey William - I certainly understand your concern as a valid one. I wouldn't want to either. Your situation is unique and I'm not clear on how DW would have requested a script if there was none to produce. I would strongly encourage you to post this same question in the screenwriting lounge. There are execs there with more experience that will likely chime in. You can post your question in lounge here: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting. Also be mindful of the people that respond. Check their profiles to see if they are actual executives who are offering solid advice and have a profile image of who they really are. Hope this helps.

William Rogers Hi William, great to see you here on Stage32.
Your conundrum. Well, it depends on the agreement you’ve got with those companies. If you’ve signed an option agreement with them, then that’s an exclusive agreement and you can’t send the script or materials to anyone else.
It's great to hear about your move into animation. I’m busy working on an animation project, a serialised story and I’m loving it.
