Zaslav has struck again. This is the second COMPLETED animated feature he has shelved for a tax write off-- both were well know IP that easily would have seen profitability. There's a special place in karma corner for this buffoon. He has ZERO care for the art and effort that people pour into these projects. Someone in this lounge (or the screenwriting lounge) wanted to write WB animation spec. At this rate there is nothing left of the brand. Gives whole new meaning to "That's all folks."

Incredibly disappointing. As an audience member, I’m certainly annoyed when we’re denied the chance to see these shelved films.
Contractually, they probably have no obligation to distribute the film. People who worked on the film got paid. But it does show a disrespect for their work. It’s ultimately bad optics to the audience and the rest of the industry, which has a value beyond just dollar signs.

Really disappointing, Laurie Ashbourne. I just found out about "Coyote Vs. Acme" the other day. I'd definitely watch it, and I definitely think it'd make a big profit. Maybe something could be done about studios and companies shelving projects for tax write offs.

That is sad. All that hard work down the drain.

Well apparently after the backlash the project is now being shopped. https://deadline.com/2023/11/coyote-vs-acme-amazon-apple-streamer-acquis... - ‘Coyote Vs. Acme’: Warner Bros Setting Up Screenings For Streamers Of Axed Looney Tunes Film; Amazon A Prime Candidate
The reporting is still way off, however. This article states that it wasn't Zaslav but rather DeLuca, but then dives into reasons as to why he wouldn't do that -- which are completely false. I've had DeLuca shelve one of my projects 2 weeks before filming simply because it was from a previous executive and not him. So it is entirely in his MO to do so.
Regardless, I'm glad this film may see the light of day.

I'm glad to hear it, Laurie Ashbourne. I said, "Maybe something could be done about studios and companies shelving projects for tax write offs." Backlash is one way.

Yes just read that they reversed the decision Laurie Ashbourne this is great news. Power to the people. I'm sure when the tax company heard this it didn't go well either.

Amid Amidi saw the film and loved it. He has some predictions for what WB will do next. https://www.cartoonbrew.com/feature-film/i-saw-coyote-vs-acme-and-its-as-wonderful-as-everyone-says-it-is-234963.html
