Huge opportunity. Can't wait to see who partakes in the lab!

Anna Marton Henry

I'm thrilled to be teaching this lab again! The first round was sold out with a wait list so we decided to repeat it and I'm so excited by the huge response. Fair warning - I cover a LOT of information in these four classes so make use of those recording links to rewatch. A lot of my slides have checklists plus I will be sending you worksheets so the course is very specific action-oriented to get you down to work.

Wayne Hazle

This is going to to be GREAT. I am looking forward to taking my pilot to the next level.

Richard "RB" Botto

The one. The only. Anna Henry. So prolific, I used periods instead of commas. Anyone wanting to get serious and down to work needs to check out this lab.

Dave Wickenden

Really looking forward to this course and a chance to get my pilot ready for the market.

Anna Marton Henry

Thank you RB! The response to this lab has been incredible. We have a wait list - again! Looking forward to getting down to some serious work in these last remaining weeks of the year.

Wayne Hazle

I feel privileged to be a part of this class. I am glad I stopped hesitating and signed up.

Karin Garfin

I'm honored to be diving in the creative flow with all of you!

Anna Marton Henry

Thank you everyone! If you have not yet sent your script and questionnaire to me, please do so as soon as possible at: amhstage32instructor@gmail.com. Please make sure your location and phone number are indicated. I need that information for our consultations. Also, please send everything in PDF format.

Matthew Walsh

Hello everyone! I'm excited for this class as well, and also hearing each of your pilots! I'm looking forward to the collaboration we're about to embark upon. Thank you, Anna, for spending part of your next few Sunday's with us :)

Richard "RB" Botto

Everyone working with Anna Marton Henry will love it. Guaranteed.

Wayne Hazle

Great first class today. LOTS of information shared and I can't wait to dig in and do the work for this class.

Richard "RB" Botto

Love hearing that Wayne Hazle

When all is said and done, especially after our rewrites anyone who wants to trade READS I am open. If there is anyone who wants to trade NOW I am also open to reading over the holidays. Just something to keep in mind. Attaching my poster here.

Piper Williams

Hi Wayne - I would trade now or then as I have time over the weekend to get some reading done!

Wayne Hazle

Piper Williams I reached out to you directly in a message

Wayne Hazle

All right. I got the story grid and the character development. Still have not gotten email on the Schedule.

I may just watch PEAKY BLINDERS. I have seen Succession and Mrs. Maisel

Jed Power

How much is this lab,please?

Anna Marton Henry

Jed Power Email edu@stage32.com regarding pricing and to be put on the notification list for when this lab is offered again. I am sure we will repeat it.

Wayne Hazle

Watched PEAKY BLINDERS and now reading the story structure of the pilot

Piper Williams

How are we all feeling, crew? Here's to hoping we are all energized! I felt that way after Anna's consult having to re-work some structure issues - already feeling better with the result - then I watched the pilot for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and realize with my level of craft I should be checking your receipts at Costco. Isn't being a writer grand? :)

Anna Marton Henry

Piper Williams LOL, you crack me up, which ain't nothing! MMM is the Olympics level, so now you're just trying to make yourself feel bad. Look up Amy Sherman-Palladino's credits and how many, many shows she wrote on and created before that one.

Wayne Hazle

Looking forward to this morning. I will need to jump out early because of an appointment. But I will follow the recording when it comes

Piper Williams

How is your energy today? Tightened up all character arcs for the pilot and excited for a great week of writing! What is your focus this week? What are you wearing to our end-of-class recital? Inquiring minds want to know!

Wayne Hazle

How Is everyone feeling this week? Anyone have any major breakthroughs

Dave Wickenden

Busy mapping my pilot with what Anne is teaching us. Although I know the story as the author of the novel, it's a different animal when you try to turn it into a script. I'll get there, one step at a time.

Wayne Hazle

Speaking of pilots I just watched the pilot for REACHER. In certain ways similar to what I am trying to do. Very different characters but a guy with a "particular set of skills" gets caught up in a big conspiracy while trying to solve the murder of his brother. I am up to episode 4. I will go back to the pilot and breakdown the subplots and how they are all developed.

Dave Wickenden

Great series. Season 2 out in tomorrow I believe. Love the guy they casted as Reacher. It is how Lee Childs described him in the book series. Although Tom Cruise did a fair job in a couple of the movies, he did not have this guy's presence.

Wayne Hazle

Just rewatched the section for Better Call Saul. Forgot how good that was. (I've seen the whole series.) THEN I watch the first 30 minutes of the pilot of OZARKS .... HOLY CRAP!! Amazing amazing tension in the scene discussed in the handouts! Never seen the show before and I may need to keep watching.

Wayne Hazle

Talking about turning up the stakes with each scene, WOW the Ozarks pilot was amazing

Piper Williams

Writing for television is 1/2 writing and 1/2 Tetris. Anna needs to add that slide to the class!

Anna Marton Henry

Piper Williams It is absolutely at least 50% Tetris! I've mentioned that to writers before and sometimes I get blank stares from writers who have never played Tetris and have no idea what I'm talking about. What I do mention in class is creating the blocks that fall in Tetris - those index cards of your scenes that you can move around. Btw, writing a procedural is really 100% Tetris.

Jed Power

What is Tetris?

Kenneth Adrian Ellis

Surely another 'Grade A+' lab for all attendees!

Wayne Hazle

Hope everyone had a wonderful last few weeks with family and time off work. Now we definitely all need to get back to it :) Actually I am sure many of us have been working away the last few weeks.

Dave Wickenden
Piper Williams

Happy belated new year! Clock Is ticking...how is everyone feeling out there?

Dave Wickenden

I had a lot of time during holidays and have already submitted my next draft to Anna. Fingers crossed.

Anna Marton Henry

Happy New Year! Glad to see so many of you continuing your writing and thank you to those who already sent me scripts! I took a short vacation and came back really sick, so now I'm taking a few days on DayQuil, and will then dive into reading. Looking forward to talking with everyone again!

Dave Wickenden

Get better, Anna.

Piper Williams

Feel better! Damn that 70 degree LA Winter weather!
