Sometimes I like to envision what actors are in what role for a synopsis/spec script I work on, to help me create a visual. Does anyone else do that?

Yes, sometimes. I started working on screenplays again last year after many years away from the creative side of the film industry (I'm mostly a film journalist/critic now/Golden Globe voter now). And in both of them, an actor friend of mine here in Norway, Rune Temte (Captain Marvel, The Last Kingdom etc), seemed to sneak in naturally.
I didn't initially plan for that, but I guess we use what we already have in our minds to tell our stories, consciously or not.
