2 Amazing Ways Stand-In-Work Improved My Life
Use the link below to watch the video
I have been so fortunate to have been cast to work as a stand-in on several amazing projects.
Having the opportunity to watch and study some phenomenal actors was the best acting
class I have ever taken.
And, sitting behind the monitors and listen to the directors and others working on the project
has been invaluable to me as an actor and person.
Hope you really enjoy the video.

Great video, Aaron Marcus! Do you know if a stand-in actor has ever done such a fantastic job that they became a principal actor?

Thanks for the share, Aaron Marcus - I know many actors that have benefited greatly from doing stand-in work for all the reasons you mention - a few have even gotten lines and upgraded for being in the right place at the right time.. Some stand-in jobs are also SAG-AFTRA jobs and the compensation and time on set goes toward their union benefits. It's a great opportunity.

That does happen. I know an actor who wound up working as a principal in a few episodes on the HBO TV show.

Thanks Sam. I believe with the new contract, Union stand-ins will receive $243 for an 8 hour day. With overtime, it would be pretty easy to earn over $300/day as a stand-in.
Is that the actor you talked about at 2:56 in the video, Aaron Marcus?

Not sure what you are asking. If you are asking about the actor who got upgraded, no, he earned scale as a principal which pays a whole lot more than stand-in work.
