Hi All! Is anyone out there familiar with the "Kidscreen" Event? It's advertised as "A must-attend market and conference for the global children's media industry." This year it is happening in San Diego from Feb. 4-7. It's super expensive - almost $2200 for the 4-day pass and they don't seem to offer 1 or 2-day passes!! I have asked for a discount but have gotten a hard "no."
Has anyone gone before? I'm wondering how valuable of an experience it would be for a creator/writer to go. I am a writer specializing in kids TV -- I have 2 multi-cam kids shows, an animated preschool show, and a family drama feature that I would like to pitch and tell everyone I meet about - and in-general, market myself as a kids writer who is determined to get staffed in a kids show writers room and a director that specializes in multi-cam TV. Anyone heard anything about this or have any personal experience?
Thank you!! Dossi
Hard pass, nothing happens in San Diego.
Better off spending $2000 buying lunch meeting with peers & reps
