One of my favorite character actors was G.D. Spradlin (NORTH DALLAS FORTY) - a successful business man who started acting after he retired in his 50's. It's never too late to start and advice like this goes so far for so many. Thanks, Aaron Marcus!

Sam, I agree, there have been some amazing actors who started late in life. I created a quick tip video on that topic. John Mahoney, who I personally and professionally really liked got started very late in life. He did some amazing films, like Tin Men ( directed by Barry Levinson) and many others. He was most well known for playing Frasier's dad on the TV show.

Very helpful, Aaron. As a Casting Director, Producer, and Director I've been on the other side of that and we are always looking for those talented people who are also professionals in the audition and on set. Thanks for sharing your insights.

That’s correct Aaron. An exclusive agent, who represents only one actor, is likely to be more dedicated and motivated to find the best opportunities for their client. This is because their success is directly tied to the actor’s success. They may invest more time and effort into understanding the actor’s strengths, preferences, and career goals, and use this knowledge to identify suitable roles or opportunities. Additionally, they may also negotiate more aggressively on behalf of the actor, as a higher pay for the actor would also mean a higher commission for them. Therefore, having an exclusive agent can be beneficial for an actor. However, it’s important for the actor to ensure that the agent is reputable, experienced, and has the actor’s best interests at heart.

I’m a voice over actor looking for remote gigs. Gigs I can do at him. I have an advanced microphone and software on laptop. I like to connect and network with producers who handle short , simple TV/ Radio Ads/commercials/announcements that are remotely. I tried other voiceover websites but they cost too much and I have not gotten any luck from doing auditions. I am stuck. I don’t know where else to go or turn too. I’m tired of waiting around doing nothing without results. Please help me.

Does narrating audiobooks interest you? Have you reached out to creative directors at ad agencies for doing radio spots? Have you looked for agents who can submit you for jobs?

Are they some good directors for radio spots on here? Are they any agent that you know of that you recommend?
