As "live" productions go, they don't come bigger than the Super Bowl. There are live cabled cameras traversing overhead, up and down the field catching the action, live hosts interviewing on the sidelines, and a live director switching between 165 cameras. Robotic cameras will be perched atop the Strat, Planet Hollywood and Mandalay Bay hotels to catch Las Vegas scenery, along with the new live “doink” cameras. These cameras, set into the goalpost uprights in both end zones, will capture never-before-seen CU angles of touchdown catches and misses, along with field goals and extra points—including the missed field goals that famously make a “doink” sound when they hit the uprights or crossbar.
