I Never Should've Booked This HBO Show
Amazingly, I worked on the HBO mini-series
We Own This City after turning it down.
Watch the video to learn how this happened.

Great video, Aaron Marcus. I've gotten better at saying "no" too. Sometimes when I said "yes" instead of "no," it turned out to be a mess.
I've booked jobs I never thought I would. Writing jobs and ghostwriting jobs.

It has taken me a long time to be able to say no (aside from the ones I was not comfortable accepting), but I still feel a little uncomfortable saying no, but I have gotten much better. Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing.
You're welcome, Aaron Marcus. I shared your video on Twitter/X.

That is so kind of you Brigitte. Really appreciate your kind words. If you or anyone else has any suggestions on how I can share my videos with an even larger audience so I can help even more actors, I would love your suggestions.

No is so powerful and empowering! But sometimes we need the experiences that come with saying yes to something that seems like it shoulda be a NO - but gave us some invaluable lessons and blessings that maybe we wouldn’t have gotten without the NO. ✌

That's true, Fran Harris! I think the balance between knowing when to say no and realizing when an opportunity may be worth it is the key.

Earlier in my career, it was so much harder for me to turn something down. It still isn't easier, but I do have my priorities in a different place now. Thanks for your comment Ashley.

Wow, Doris. Thank you so much for your amazing insights. I agree. I have never turned down a film offer because it wasn't "smart" enough for me. There are other reasons why I might say no. But, I always find that work gets me more work. The experiences, things I will learn, and connections I make are always invaluable to my growth as an actor and person. Thank you so much again for your beautiful insights.
