CW is officially moving forward with a new Sherlock adaptation- "Sherlock & Daughter". What do you think community? Is it exciting to have another adaptation of this classic character, or do you feel that Sherlock has been too played out in recent years?

Personally, I feel as if its been played out too much in recent years. There's always going to be a market for mysteries and procedurals, but I wish we'd explore the genre in new and exciting ways instead of reverting to the same five things.

Let's expand that Sherlock Cinematic Universe!
Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorite characters, Ashley Renee Smith. Looking forward to the new show, especially because of the father-daughter and global conspiracy angles.

The father-daughter angle is definitely interesting and I can't deny that David Thewlis's casting makes me more excited than I normally would be.

David Thewlis is a fantastic actor, Ashley Renee Smith! I just checked his IMDb page. He's also gonna be in a Sci-Fi Mystery movie called "Littlemouth."

Mary Helen Norris Agreed. It's always Sherlock. I'm glad to see that Hercule Poirot gets a bit more attention these days, but that's indicative of the same problem. It's always gotta be a long established mystery franchise rather than new IPs and ideas. That's one of the things I really loved about the show House. It was inspired by Sherlock Holmes, but in no way leveraged that IP to sell itself. We need more of that.
