Hi! My name is John Sullivan. I've been a Stage 32 member since 2014. I have a number of loglines on my profile and would love to get one produced (I have at least two in various contests). I am also available for writing assignments (as a newcomer I'm what could be termed a "cheap date" :-D). I am happy to work on any project -- even a Hallmark movie (big-city lawyer goes back to her hometown, falls in love with the local hunk she knew in high school, discovers the true meaning of Christmas).
My goal is to make connections in the industry with the ultimate goal of forming a 501c non-profit production company to produce high-quality film and television where all above-cost revenue could be donated to NGOs and other organizations working in the field attempting to make the world a better place (a challenge, for sure). A lot of films and TV shows like to "say something". My goal is to produce entertainment that actually does something.
Check out my posted work and let me know if you think I might make a good fit for your project. :-)
Cheers!
John

Hi, John Richard Sullivan. Stage 32 has a Jobs Section (www.stage32.com/find-jobs). It's updated regularly.
You said your goal is to make connections in the industry. These blogs could help: www.stage32.com/blog/tags/networking-41

I love your goal, John. There is a bit of zeitgeist to it.as more in entertainment look to models similar. Impact Investing is a huge model in every sector except entertainment and that needs to change. I actually wrote a book about it during the strikes that includes a lot of resources if you are interested, here is the website: https://investinginfilms.com/

What a great idea for a production company, John Richard Sullivan - stories can do so much good in the world. Wishing you huge success with it. Do you have a name for the company?

Agree with Laurie. Both in statement and about her book.

Thank you for the info, Laurie! And yes, I will check out your book since this is uncharted territory for me. I love the phrase "impact investing" and that's what a company like this would be looking at for seed capital.

Really admire the aspirational element of the company John Richard Sullivan. You (unfortunately) don't see that alot in this industry. We need more of that!

Thank you for the encouragement, Sam. The name of the company would be Hand Shadows unless it's already taken (or if someone came up with something better). :-)

Thank you, Nick! Seems like it might be a sustainable alternative to the industry's for-profit model.
You're welcome, John Richard Sullivan.

And by the way, if anyone knows anyone who is already established in the industry and could get something like this going tomorrow, please pass the idea along to them. I would be there to support/promote or do anything in any capacity to help make it flourish. :-)
