Introduce Yourself : It's been a while... by Beth Black

It's been a while...

Hi everyone!

I'm Beth Black, a writer who rented my soul to corporations for the past few years, trading success in literary presses for a livable wage as a copywriter. On this holiday weekend, I've decided to take a break from all that and reintroduce myself.

I write in several genres with a special passion for novels and screenplays. If you'd enjoy a virtual escape to a tropical isle this weekend, visit BethScape.com. I recommend traveling via desktop or pad for the full effect. While visiting, feel free to try some samples of my work.

So nice to meet you!

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome back to novel writing and screenwriting, Beth Black. What projects are you gonna be working on?

Mary Helen Norris

Another novel writer! (I work in both novel writing and screenwriting as well). Welcome back, Beth! Lovely to meet you!

Beth Black

Hello Maurice, I'm currently working on a novel similar to Practical Magic in its magical realism and female-driven plot. To balance the laughs, there's also an unrelated dramatic screenplay in the works. I'll share more on that when it takes form. How about you?

Beth Black

Thank you, Mary Helen! Wonderful to meet you, too!

Maurice Vaughan

Your novel sounds interesting, Beth Black. Ok, looking forward to hearing more about your screenplay when it takes form. I'm working on a feature spec screenplay that's like "The Purge" with vampires and a pitch deck job.

Dustin Richardson

Nice to meet you, Beth Black! Welcome back!

Beth Black

Maurice Vaughan I read that at first as "...with vampires and a pitchforks." Yikes. I like your version much better. Should be interesting! Let's keep each other posted on progress, which should keep me working on this instead of corporate writing.

Beth Black

Thank you, Dustin Richardson! So nice to feel welcomed back!

Maurice Vaughan

Vampires with pitchforks would be interested, Beth Black. In "The Purge," the government allows people to commit any crime one day a year. In my script, the government allows vampires to feed on people four times a year (once a season), but the main aspect of the script is the characters have to vampire-proof a house before the Feast starts. Ok, let's keep each other posted.

Welcome, again Beth Black to Stage32. I hope you are well and thriving.

Beth Black

Thank you, Geoff Hall. Hoping the same for you.

Bill Hoversten

Welcome back, Beth!
