Inspiration and Writing Insights from Video Fan Reactions of Movies/TV

Most of you are now aware of the explosive growth of the "video fan reaction" community, most notably on Patreon where fans blog their opinions about movies they've just seen and reacting real-time as they view them. I find it helpful as a writer to study their reactions and what stimulates them the most about a certain film, certain characters, certain plots. At Patreon.com you can search "creators" such as Mary Cherry, Popcorn in Bed, Kerry Tries It (young Russian lady transplant now in L.A.). From a marketing perspective it's good to know your audience and this is global. What's remarkable is how many Gen Z and millennials have never seen iconic and blockbuster films and are discovering them for the first time. They will cry, laugh and emote on screen which helps me hone in on how best to touch those emotional buttons in my own scripts ... and all the genres are there -- romance, sci-fi, drama, comedy, fantasy and the combo-genres.
