Andrea Gordon

Hello! After focusing on Real Estate for 26 years, I am back!

Seeking funding, industry help of all kinds for a film adaptation of Gemma Whelan's Painting through the dark. Set in Ireland and San Francisco. Gemma and I go back 30 years, and this incredible journey of the self is a humanist ride through what it is to be an artist! It's time!

Other projects in the hopper for Rainbow Zebra Productions, but I wanted to talk about this one.

Thank you all for your amazing knowledge and support!

As a real estate agent and writer let me say welcome !

Andrea Gordon

Yes- I think there is a lot in common between real estate and theatre/film !

Sam Sokolow

Its great to meet you, Andrea Gordon. Totally agree that there is a lot in common between real estate and theatre/film. Developing "properties" in real estate and "intellectual properties" in entertainment. The similarities are almost endless when looking at it through that prism. Wishing you huge success with all of your creative endeavors.

Andrea Gordon

Thank you John and Sam. Funny you should mention that- I am developing a series about exactly that in Real Estate- but with the news changing everyday, I am concerned the industry as we know it will be destroyed and my series will be moot...xox

Hey Andrea, there are two types of writers - those who chase the trends and those who set the trend in storytelling. Why say the obvious? Because you are worried a trend may change and 'ruin' your story. Don't be afraid of that. My advice is to set a trend meaning what do you THINK will happen in the Real Estate industry and PREDICT events not tell them as a history. It is just a thought but it sounded like worries about the industry beyond your control are holding you back.

Andrea Gordon

Thanks Tom. I am actually working on it and not totally shying away from it, and it is going to be a roller coaster for housing and the US economy for a good long while.

L, I think that there are three groups of screenwriters: those who chase trents; those who set trents; and those who just write what inspires them, the last is probably the biggest group. agree, Being a trensetter, wouldn't that be cool?! Yes! But highly unlikely!! Being part of the group of writers that can live from writing screenplays is like winning the lottery. Being completely original and setting a trent is like winning the lottery three times in a row. As screenwriters, only a handful of people are able to set those trents.
