Hi. My name is Vicente Sánchez and I am a Mexican man who has struggled with OCD since childhood. This is the reason why, after plenty of years, I decided to write a book describing my journey dealing with this disorder, which I think it could also be a movie. This is why I am looking for help to reach the right people or agencies to achieve it. Can anyone help?
My book breaks down and shows how OCD can get into your life to dominate it and control it more and more until you can get handicapped and a slave. My book shows the transformation of a person from being a nice regular kid to being a miserable maniac and suicidal person who has trouble finding joy in life and sees all the wasted years as a terrible burden that prevents him from being at least less miserable.
My book shows how this condition could ruin your life in every aspect and modify your mind to the point you no longer know what you really are like.
My book shows how a negative family and social atmosphere can also affect the way you behave and think by making you feel desperate, hopeless and angry.
My book offers a different type of view to the meaning of life and the dimension of everyday problems and how the stupidest things can become an almost live or die situation.
The story shows how a person can be so beaten up, self-conscious and abused that they start feeling invisible, ugly, worthless, disgusting and cursed.
I believe my story has potential not only to help people who suffer from a mental condition to find some comfort and relate to me, but also to be a mind changing experience that offers a different perspective about mental illnesses and how brutal they can be. This book shows a different kind of reality, a raw kind of reality rather than a comic situation with a gut avoiding to step on lines on the street or making funny things that are actually a burden for the sufferer.
Thank you very much in advance

Congratulations on completing your book, Vicente Sánchez. That is no small accomplishment! You are obviously a creative with a great heart who wants to be a source of encouragement for others and I applaud you for that. I don't know what your sales numbers are but I would consider focusing on marketing the book and increasing its sales. If you feel strongly that you're supposed to have a screenplay on hand, I would also consider learning how to write a screenplay yourself. It's a different animal altogether but worth the learning curve. It's what I did and I found that I love writing screenplays even more.

Vicente Sanchez, well done. I am an amateur author, writing my stories for the pleasure it gives me. I enjoy the process more than the end product. Anyway, I wanted to congratulate you on your book. I am convinced that many people with similar disorders will find it worthwhile. Go for it!

This is really inspiring, Vicente Sánchez. Congratulations on finishing your book. I recommend this Stage 32 webinar on the journey of adapting IP into a film or TV show - Micky is a fantastic educator and resource: https://www.stage32.com/education?p=8944891724083

Vicente Sánchez, I think the best starting place would be for you to educate yourself on what both those adaptation processes would look like. The more you understand the process, the better you can navigate the one that feels like the best fit for your story. We have a number of webinars here on Stage 32 to learn about film/tv adaptation or publishing your book. We also have free blogs and you can always ask specific questions here in the Authoring Lounge or over in the Filmmaking and Producing Lounges. The clearer you are in what you're interested in learning, the better answers you'll receive. Once you've built a strong foundational understanding of how it all works, you can be more targeted in your networking and approach.

Vicente Sánchez I applaud your bravery in tackling this subject. Always tough to write on such a personal but important issue. To clarify, have you already published your book or are you thinking your unpublished manuscript could work better as a screenplay? (Also, Ashley has posted a lot of great stuff above.)
