Is there any lounge here where match making is done

Please help with any lounge where matchmaking is done, like a producer is looking for an animation studio, Indie filmmaker is looking VFX studio, instead of going to MIP/AFM/KIDSCREEN, we will hang in the matchmaking lounge. I am actively looking for someone who can represent my Animation studio in these market places ..or better STAGE32 becomes the market place.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Kumar Sambhav. There isn't a Lounge for matchmaking, but you could search for collaborators in the Browse Members Section (www.stage32.com/people).

You could also post an ad on the Job Board (www.stage32.com/find-jobs).

And Stage 32 has in-person Meetups (www.stage32.com/meetups).

Kumar Sambhav

Maurice Vaughan i have tried the first two , it never worked for me , but the third one seems practical but again traveling to LA from another part of the world is impractical , since we all can chat, share things here, I wondered if there must be a lounge to collab, Stage32 must open a market simulation like MIP/AFM/KIDSCREEN , where deals happen every day , Stage32 will generate incredible revenue , and it will be a great service to community. Like fiverr of FILM INDUSTRY , i will be glad to share 10% of the deal i make here with STAGE32 , With SORA & LTX studio coming in .. MAJOR OTTs will see dwindling profits , cluster teams will generate engaging content and release them as PPV / VOD , STAGE 32 should be ready with tons n tons of teams created here at Stage32 platforms , Once that content gets going Stage32 will be new NETFLIX.

Maurice Vaughan

Stage 32 has Meetups in other states and countries, Kumar Sambhav. You could even create a Meetup in Bhopāl if you like.

I like that idea. You could email the suggestion to support@stage32.com. In the meantime, the best way to network on Stage 32 in my opinion is being active in the Lounges.

Kumar Sambhav

Maurice Vaughan Thanks , I will mail this Idea for sure.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Kumar Sambhav. Ok, great.

Have you tried posting an inquiry or job on LinkedIn? Unfortunately, American studios are shying away from production. But are more open to acquisitions, especially based on IP. As you pointed out, Sora and LTX are looming, and not only will it kill most production jobs at the studios, but it will drastically impact service studios.

Kumar Sambhav

Yes Bob Harper approaching on LinkedIn, posting enquiries, doin everybit , and the fact that you mentioned about American studios, it is very true, even though they have Ips they need someone to do production, last year we spoke with dozens of producers in LA , i got a feeling that everyone is looking for funding , there is one producer, to whom we quoted 750k for the entire 3d CGI with sound design digital dolby , i ran the numbers over n over , the actual real production was not crossing 750k , when She prepared the final ballpark , it was of 6million, I was stunned to see ..for VOs and Executive produced it she added ..extraa 5mn , i wished her happy easter recently, she was still looking for funding. this is the similar story for dozens other. . why cant they ..just finish it all in 1.5 mn max and sell it for 4-5mn in all territories , with dubbing , make millions . they ...rather would wait for 20years. to find an investor . I am far far away .. STAGE32 is in the center of all , they should propagate this idea and get these projects in flow . and make money for all.

Kumar Sambhav That padding of the budget is a problem that persists. They don't understand that there is no ROI for those budgets for independent animated films at that budget, especially when there still is a need to spend on advertisement. A few years ago, I had a film budgeted under a million. A distributor liked the premise, but the audience wasn't big enough to justify the amount they would need to spend on advertising. Since then, minimum guarantees have gone from a couple of million to a couple of hundred thousand. There is not much to be made off of streamers any longer. I'm not sure what you would propose STAGE32 to do that would change the numbers and attitudes of the buyers.

Kumar Sambhav

Bob Harper Remember I ran the numbers for you for your film, at that time we were still using MAYA and ARNOLD , It was 628k , But now with Blender you can slash that further to 350k for 90 min CGI , 2d or 3D whatever quality u want , You need another 350k to get VOs, SOUND mixing, attend all the markets, Thats it, I have spoken with many distributers, They are readily buying completed films. last kidscreen i met few who wanted it all. SO if you have finished the movie and a team who travels around the world to sell maximum territories, with satellite, OTTs , Netwrks, with dubbing rights, That! s all !! 20 territories later you have your $5mn. This is exactly what Carl from Lion Forge is doing , I am going to suggest STAGE32 enable the platform so that you can get 700k via crowd fund, enable the platform so that you can find me to make that movie in 350k , Enable the platform so that someone can distribute the movie without traveling to markets, Stage32 can do it. while we focus on our core.

@kumar - Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match....find me a find....catch me a catch....Lol ....Sorry....couldn't resist. Actually, that's a great idea. I currently do all my own SFX and VFX with my teeny tiny animation studio (which is me... in the back of my campervan), but as my animations get longer, I might need help.

Kumar Sambhav

Niki Galiano soooooopaaaar Rhyme ...Just Buzz me whenever you need our Studio.

Bob Harper

Kumar Sambhav, I suggest that instead of getting a rep to sell your services, you get investors to produce your own content.

Kumar Sambhav

Bob Harper Yes dear Bob i started that back in 2020 , Wrote Max n Luke , got it vetted by MIKE DISA , he is a celebrity mentor here in Stage32 , sent that deck to lot of networks, during kid screens, Its really hard to raise money through investors , packaging itself is a big task , Then Created Gopalakidz youtube channel , hoping to raise some YT money , i ralised you have to burn money before you see your first dollar , almost burned 200k to push that channel, the channel is live with 50k subscribers and generates $30 per month, Then I thought to hire some on US who represent us and find good projects, SO i hired Zero gravity management, paid 10k upfront, all they did was put repping news on deadline, after that i never heard from them in three years, LOL to get them to face to face i have to spend another 10k to visit their office, So i guess this is the way, you keep trying keep trying . neva give up and your time will come. There are many like me who are looking producers who wants to produce in less , There are many producers who are looking for good teams, This is where this fits. Match maker match maker make me a match .!!! A community to keep you going. I strongly STAGE32 can do it , I mean they have done a lot already, we are talking to each other. this is magic. Now its time for a paradigm shift.

Bob Harper

Kumar Sambhav Your journey in trying to do you own IP answers your question on why indie producers aren't jumping at the opportunity to enlist your services. They are going through the same hoops in trying to get a buyer or distributor, and they are learning, as many of us are, that the numbers don't add up, especially when they are padding the budget beyond studio services.

Family and kids' entertainment buying is halting unless you have a great IP and/or serious marketing money. Our rep talked to everyone at MIP and Kidscreen, and international buyers are more focused on their territories to gain the financial breaks they get to keep the production local.

Theatrical is pretty much dead for indies, and DVDs and BluRay, which were cash cows, are no longer a big revenue window, and streamers keep paying less and less.

The paradigm needs to shift from the old ways to new ways, such as focusing on smaller productions, niche audiences, creative financing, alternate platforms, and different types of content.

Kumar Sambhav

Bob Harper Great Insights Dear Bob , This is what is happening, and your Last two lines is exactly the solution i m pitching to communities like STAGE32 , With the advancement in technology smaller teams will produce great content, but they will still need money, not in millions but in thousands may be, and once the content is ready, its going to get sold , cuz lotsa ppl are buying completed shows in lesser price. This is it. win-win for every one . one who owns the IP takes the bigger bite.

Terence Daniels

Hey Kumar, it's nice to hear your enthusiasm, it is needed. I like that your efforts are focused more on the indie side but tell me what you forecast for the major studios right now trying to structure AI into their workflows?

I feel like there has been a great deal of creative gatekeeping going on which has caused us to come to this point as a culture not only in the states but globally. I was in LA(physically) almost 8 years ago pounding pavement and I'd have to say that it was more for sightseeing than opportunity.

Those companies restructuring means even less opportunity and more of those same IPs that are likely to draw less and less audiences. That is happening now in gaming to long standing pillars of the medium b/c investors use the past success of an IP as an excuse not to innovate. Like a slowly boiling cartoon frog...with superpowers!

Kumar Sambhav

Terence Daniels Thanks !! Long time ago when George Lucas introduced software-based editing, with the help of some Stanford grads , he hired back then , There was revolt , strike and what not , they thought editors will loose their jobs , after some unrest they adopted new ways and look where is editing now , AI is scary right now , we lost our big client citing AI , they have developed some language models, through which they will now do generative animation and upload in their youtube channels, they are like coco melon of Europe , They told us , it is going to save cost for them , After this major hit, we looked at AI with a positive approach, and adopted few tools, and we created a ANIME teaser in 3 days flat from scratch, which would have taken 4 -8 weeks traditionally after that I sent an email in my network, that 90 min 3D CGI is possiblei in $750k and less than 12 months. One of the major studios replied and had a call with 7 of their professionals in the call, how was this possible, I showed them the demo. They seemed very optimistic,

Major Studios have there challenges , but Industry as a whole is very generous, there is room for everyone, if there is an ecosystem where we can approach just by saying hello and we getting ample of business , we all make money , don't have to chase big giants, when your content is loved by the audience they will pick you, NIMONA , One punch man, stranger things , mighty bheem , These stories are proof that when story telling is incredible , it will go beyond, Recently in India interesting case study happened, There was this GUJRATI MOVIE called VASH , locally produced in local language it hardly earned money max $250k , but the story telling was great , One Bollywood producer acquired the rights for Remake , He spent around $5million , it grossed over $40mn world wide, The movies name is SHAITAAN.

We all have great stories to tell , but there so many moving parts required to make a movie, Hope someone will tie this together soon.
