Thought I'd say Hi. I'm a London, Uk based writer - professionally I write stand up, TV comedy, radio comedy- a few awards, nominations and exciting credits (BAFTA winning Frankie Boyle's Farewell To The Monarchy for instance)--- AT THE MOMENT I am trying to stage my play Thrown By Giants, about refugee women living in the WW2 enemy alien camp on the Isle Of Man. I'm also looking for people who want to make it into a film/Tv series - which I feel it suits more TBH. That's me :)

You're welcome, Meryl O'Rourke. A long list would be great, but in the meantime since you're so busy, you could just add your introduction post to your profile bio. A bio will help you build relationships/network on here.

@Meryl Hi, a great skill set you have & congrats on your awards/credits. I’ve only written one comedy an Irish Rom Com pre internet 80’s & to do voice tapes yet of both a podcast (re written) & reading screenplay. Done table reads already in private but not yet submitted audio production for execs/producers ears. (Dark comedy not stand up/slapstick.) Also to do micro film in London pub highlighting one core theme of horse racing as part of an I.P & publicity social media strategy. LOL Later in year will be seeking paid professional “ears.” Your WW2 story & the women’s isolated entrapment predicament/world sounds very interesting. Would you call it a Drama? Or is it more of a Vintage Noir?

Debbie Croysdale I guess it's a drama- being more specific will come when the script is finished - I guess it's a little people fighting the system. the title mainly refers to the myth about the Isle Of Man being a chunk of mud thrown by a giant - but also fits the "little people moved around like pawns" narrative. thank you!

So your "Thrown By Giants" stage play's done?

@Meryl 2 pubs in London have fringe theatre I already know Pentameters above Horseshoe Hampstead & Kings Head Islington. If you’re waiting for mainstream theatre placement perhaps they maybe an alternative. Artists may also film certain projects. I did not choose venues for Rom Com however as it needs to kick off in an Irish establishment with horse racing heritage for a social media strategy. (Too long to explain here.)
