hello everyone! hoping this post finds you well :) my name is Nia “Niamani” Ricks and I’ll be graduating with my BA degree in Film and Television studies from Columbia College Chicago, tomorrow on Mother’s Day! I’m born and raised in the Windy City and over the past 5 years of my college career I’ve worked as an Art Director/Production Designer (that’s how I started out when I first started being on set) and just had my Directorial debut, writing and producing my very first indie film last weekend. I’ve been developing a community of passionate, like-minded creatives to work with, collaborate with and just be surrounded by kind individuals who loves their craft and are willing to work together and build our community further. if anyone is from Chicago (or even if you’re not), I would love to connect! <3 thank you and God bless.

my first film that's currently in post right now is a short Drama film. I love writing Drama's, that's where I feel the most vulnerable and have mostly personal related experiences in. I've been wanting to get into comedy writing as well. my next goal is to write a script for animation. Maurice Vaughan

hi Sam Rivera! it’s nice to e-meet you as well! i’ve just wrapped production on my first short film which is currently in post-production right now. i’m currently working on a short silent film which i’ve just completed a first draft for yesterday. hoping to film that sometime in the summer or fall of this year or if not sometime in 2025. fingers crossed!! how about yourself?
