Shifting Gears Can Work!--Screenwriter to Author

If you're a writer, you write.

If a category within the Industry shows resistance, perhaps shifting gears is what's called for. I solicited managers with my six TV pilot series for years with very little reads, so finally said to myself, perhaps I need to try a different writing category. To that end, I began writing an authored book--"A Seamless World," and then another--"The Evolving Human."

Unlike studios, streamers, and networks, Amazon had no gatekeepers; no one to ask permission from. And so I launched what I had written straight to the end user---Ahhhhhh! What a feeling---to finally get your writing out to the audience.

My first book won the 2024 International Impact book Awards. The 2nd book--"The Evolving Human"--is now available as an e-Book on my Patreon page, https://www.patreon.com/unityascension . Would love to have you be a part of the growing community.

Never give up! Keep writing.

"If a category within the Industry shows resistance, perhaps shifting gears is what's called for." You're right, Pidge Jobst. We have to pivot sometimes. Congratulations on your first book winning the 2024 International Impact book Awards!

I'm currently trying to push forward one of my completed screenplays into a graphic novel form. Not against a hard pivot for strategic reasons

Terrence Sellers

I have made a similar pivot in the last few years, but I see it more as an addition to my resume. After having written several features and making no real headway with them, I decided to write my next big story as a novel. Funny enough, in the midst of writing this novel, I was hired to write another one. Now, I've written 4, with one of them publishing digitally out of the gate. Currently querying the first of the other 3, so hopefully that pans out as well.
