I’m originally from San Diego, California, but I’ve lived in Hong Kong since 2006. A few years ago, I retired, got bored, and decided to write science-fiction stories as a hobby. On Amazon, I've self-published five books and one collection of short stories, Cosmic Portal, of which one story, “Killing Hitler,” was accepted by the Hong Kong Writers Circle for publication in the Q4 (December) issue of their magazine “The Apostrophe.”

And I contributed two short stories, "My Life Sucks" and "We, Robots,” to the 2024 SciFi Anthology: The Science Fiction Novelists. (The book is now #14 in Science-Fiction Anthologies on Amazon Kindle, with a 4.0/5.0 rating.)
Now that Covid is over, I’m back to traveling. Currently, I’m in California for a month and have met many new extraterrestrials I might write about, including one who purchased a copy of Cosmic Portal. Actually, there are a lot of aliens in Hong Kong. They’re everywhere. I know they’re watching me, so I’ll start writing about them after I’ve returned. Stay tuned...
Hey, Michael A. Clement. Sounds like you're having a nice time in CA. What's one of your favorite things about living in Hong Kong?

Maurice Vaughan What I like most about HK is that it's the crossroads of East and West (less so now than in the past, though). Thus, my friends and colleagues are from all over the world, which gives me a better perspective (understanding) of different views. It's also a great place for food; there are lots of restaurants.

Nick Phillips It must be my charming personality, like Jimmy Stewart with his pooka (or, in my case, lots of alien pookas.)
HK sounds great, Michael A. Clement! I've seen videos of the food there. The food looks delicious!

John Mezes Thanks. This trip in the USA has given me a few ideas for short stories. Travel does that. It gives me exposure to new experiences to write about.
