Introduce Yourself : Editor, producer, writer, nice to meet you all! by Clark Tolleson

Clark Tolleson

Editor, producer, writer, nice to meet you all!

Hi everyone at Stage32!

My name is Clark Tolleson - or Editor Clark, because branding rules!

I've been on Stage32 for a while; posting projects, asking questions, lurking and seeing what y'all have to say. It's great to see so many creative folks sharing their knowledge and projects!

I've been into filmmaking and storytelling since 2010, back when I was in 8th grade. I turned my hobby into a career, where I work full-time at a local news station in Texas and have been here for nearly six years.

I would say my overall career goal is to focus primarily on editing in whatever capacity interests me. I've done MOST OF it all, so I'm no stranger to different roles that comes with video production! I'd say my next goal is to edit a music video for a local and/or unknown talent.

Another project I have is a crime fiction mini-series, I'm currently on episode nine of ten. It's been tremendous to write, learn about screenwriting along the way, and express my creativity outside of producing promotional and advertising content.

Hey, Clark Tolleson. Hope you're doing great. What's your favorite thing(s) about working at the news station?

Sam Rivera

Hi Clark Tolleson thank you for sharing@ Are you working on anything new?

Sam Sokolow

Hi Clark Tolleson - awesome to see you here! I started in news journalism. How do you feel working in the news contributes to your fictional creative endeavors?

Clark Tolleson

Maurice Vaughan When my colleagues come to my office and pitch their ideas to me. I tell everyone here if they have ideas for promos, to talk to me and we'll figure things out as we go.

Clark Tolleson

Sam Rivera Nothing NEW new. I've been re-watching some of my old animated videos, and thinking... that's all I'll say. ;)

Clark Tolleson

Sam Sokolow Honestly, I separate my creative in news and my creative in my free time projects. They're different beasts creatively. On the technical side, I picture myself directing, being behind the camera, and editing for my mini-series when I'm shooting commercials and promotional content. Just waiting. ;)

That's pretty cool, Clark Tolleson. You know what it's like on the other side of the pitch table. I'm sure you picked up some advice that helps you pitch your own projects.

L. Tom Deaver

Terrific post Clark! Good fortune to you. It is good to see a fellow hard worker and dedicated to the craft.

Pat Savage

You have a crime fiction mini-series and currently on episode nine of ten eh. Excellent and here you can learn how to pitch the series properly as well!

Geoff Hall

Clark Tolleson Greetings, Clark. It’s great to meet you. What’s the filmmaking scene like in Texas? Is there a hub, similar to that of Atlanta GA?

Clark Tolleson

Geoff Hall I'd say Austin is the main film hub in Texas. I'm a few hours away from Austin and the big cities so I don't get the chance to really be involved, but where I'm at now is looking to develop a film hub for the small communities around us. Just went to a nice film meetup yesterday actually!
