Hi everyone at Stage32!
My name is Danny Phillips. I'm not very active here, but encouraged to add a post in the "Introduce Yourself Lounge". I have written 7 screenplays. Directed and produced 5 of them and 4 of them have received awards. My last film was a feature length one called No Turning Back which has worldwide distribution. Since then I have written 2 short screenplays, both around 30 mins. Yes, its a lousy length I know! My latest screenplay is called Timebound. Its Sci Fi. It has picked up 3 screenplay wins and numerous other awards. I will possibly offer it on Ink Tip and assuming there are no takers, I will probably Produce and Direct it early next year in New Zealand.

That's an impressive resume. What genres are your favorite to write?

Hi John, I believe the vast majority of indie filmmakers do several jobs. I also edit my films and do the sound design. On the last 2 films I wrote the lyrics for the opening/closing song. One day I will find a producer and then I will have a big chunk of my workload lifted. But this is micro budget stuff so not too many takers.

Hi Maurice,
Timebound is about ambitious wannabe runner Brooke, who buys a Beta version of a cutting-edge smartwatch armed with a built-in mentor. She initially thrives but finds herself trapped in the relentless grip of the watch.

Thanks Maurice. It takes a heap of money (even a short film at indie level) to make a movie. It also takes a mammoth amount of work if you are going to do it well. Filmmakers will procrastinate and find reasons to not to make it. Positive comments, like yours are what is often needed push a filmmaker to to take the next step. Thank you.
You're welcome, Danny Phillips. You're right. It takes so much to make a film. Glad my comment helps. That's one of the great things about the Stage 32 community. We push each other to reach our goals. Looking forward to seeing "Timebound" and your other projects. Keep us updated on them.
