Hi everyone - I hope you're all having a creative week and a great start to Introduce Yourself Weekend. I'm a film and TV producer (and I produce one YouTube channel). I love this industry in all its shades and colors and I love storytellers and creative poeple. What was once limited by geography is now shared globally thanks to Stage 32.
When I was starting out, I had the honor of being a Production Assistant on a movie Martin Scorcese directed. Later on, after quite the journey, I had the honor of Executive Producing a TV series that Ron Howard directed. My most recent credit is the Nat Geo/Disney+ show GENIUS: MLK/X which aired in February and is now in Emmy contention (fingers, toes and eyes crossed).
I also work in the certification department here at Stage 32 and am extremely proud of this global workforce training initiative we have launched and continue to build. We are working with film commissions from Hawaii to Georgia and from Costa Rica to Poland to give people the tools they need to get their foot in the door and work in the industry. We just launced the Production Assistant Master Certification. If you want to learn how to be a P.A. share your certification with production companies and commissions to get to work wherever you are I cannot recommend this course higher. Every place production is done on earth needs qualified P.A.'s. I started as a P.A. and the sky is the limit if you can get on set with a head start and earn the right to stay there. Here's a link so you can see the course and share it with anyone who wants to work in production: https://stage32.myabsorb.com/#/curricula/a8f1a07e-d4e4-4136-8a9b-c70e5d1...
I'd love to know what you're all working on right now and what do you want to do next in your creative journey. Thanks and have a terrific IYW!

Happy IYW, Sam Sokolow! I'm enjoying GENIUS: MLK/X. It definitely deserves Emmys!
I'm finishing up a ghostwriting job and working on a feature spec script. I'm also outlining ideas and rewriting short scripts here and there.

Happy IYW Sam Sokolow! I just finished a script called, "A Blade of Saints & Angels" and it's with a reader friend right now. Next up is my first acting gig! I get to do a voiceover for an "old-timey" audio drama in both English and Spanish. Should be fun! Thanks so much for all you do Sam.

Great to meet you, Sam! I've been very busy working on my sci-fi/action short film CYBER FIGHTER as a proof of concept for the feature. It's also a published novel & comic adaptation too. I'm finishing principal photography this month while I've been doing post on the footage we've shot already. Will be in and out this weekend between fight choreography and rehearsals with my other actors.

You’re awesome, Sam Sokolow!!
Currently, I’m working on a book idea. It’s been fun to jump back into writing something for myself instead of just helping other writers develop their projects. =)

Hi Maurice Vaughan - thanks so much for the kind words on GENIUS: MLK/X. Can you share the subject of what you're ghostwriting?

William Joseph Hill CYBER FIGHTER is a great title and the comic book looks really cool (I saw it on Amazon). Please let us know where we can see the short when you've completed it.

Amanda Toney - it's a very exciting time at Stage 32 Certification. We are currently producing the Production Coordinator Master Certification, a vital job on any production and a great stepping stone up the production ladder. Production Coordinators are in high demand all over the world. That will launch in July. After that, we will be launching the Fundamentals of Grip & Electric Master Certification, then the First Assistant Directing Master Certification, and, of course, more to come after those. The future of film school is here!

You're welcome, Sam Sokolow. Sorry, I can't discuss the details. It's a fun project though.

Hey Sam Sokolow - here's the logline: "In a dystopian city, an angel-turned-human and a former special ops soldier must rescue his sister and save the human race by stopping an ancient evil from replacing humanity’s bloodline with that of the Nephilim."
It's a mix of "Touched by an Angel", "Constantine" and "John Wick" - as if Monica (Roma Downey's character) had come down to rescue the homeless John Wick style.

Leonardo Ramirez that sounds like such a cool premise! I always loved how the early Indiana Jones movies blended action thriller with spiritual stakes. Not comparing directly, of course, but I love when those come together.

I actually love the comparison Sam Sokolow . I've always loved when those two elements came together. I've got a buddy of mine reading the script now for a 2nd time and his initial thoughts were super positive. After he's done, going to send it to my favorite coverage guy (Clayton Conroy) for his notes.

Sam Sokolow, is a fantasy adventure book. Hopefully, it is the first in a trilogy that follows three main characters who suddenly find themselves in a strange world on the brink of war filled with magic, complicated politics, and the answers to how their loved one was mysteriously murdered at the start of the book.
I took a set etiquette and protocol course years ago for much cheaper. That's all you really need to know. Course is overpriced.
