Introduce Yourself : Regreetings! by Jack Hilkewich

Jack Hilkewich

Regreetings!

Hi everyone. I have been away for a bit but I will be checking in more frequently from now on. I am a screenwriter, low case director. I have a short film script that I was hoping to get feedback on, check my log lines to see it. I have written 2 feature scripts, one of which has been sold. I am also working on a 3rd one at the moment. I will read your scripts and give some feedback as well, if you want. I have met some really great people on this site since I joined up!

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome back, Jack Hilkewich. What's a low case director?

Jack Hilkewich

Maurice Vaughan thanks! That means that I direct stuff but nothing too crazy anymore.

William Joseph Hill

Welcome, Jack Hilkewich ! Good to meet you.

Richard "RB" Botto

Good to have you back and hope to see you around more often, Jack Hilkewich

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Jack Hilkewich. Ok, gotcha. Congratulations on selling a script! What genre(s) is your third feature script?

Jack Hilkewich

William Joseph Hill nice to meet you as well! ,Richard "RB" Botto thanks and look forward to getting more involved here.

Jack Hilkewich

Maurice Vaughan it's future noir/thriller, I guess.

Maurice Vaughan

Kind of like "Blade Runner," Jack Hilkewich?

Jack Hilkewich

Kind of, Maurice Vaughan but very minimal sci-fi elements. It's a very heightened imagining of an extreme near future.

Maurice Vaughan

Sounds interesting, Jack Hilkewich. I'd watch it. Keep us posted on your scripts. And hope you sell the other two!

Jack Hilkewich

I have the outline started for the script, Maurice Vaughan and as soon as I am done editing my documentary I will get moving on the script. The working title is "Persephtion". The misspelling is intentional. What about you? Last time I was around here you had signed a shopping deal, if I'm not mistaken.

Maurice Vaughan

I like intentional misspellings in titles, Jack Hilkewich. I do the same thing with some of my scripts.

The shopping agreement expired, but I've been working on the pitch material to make it even better. I'm finishing up a ghostwriting job, working on a feature spec script, and pitching scripts.

Premton Kryeziu

Hi sir, can I ask you where do you sell your scripts and how to find agents? How to join the industry? Thank you!

Ashley Renee Smith

Welcome back, Jack Hilkewich!! The best way to network here on Stage 32, is to be more involved and active within the lounges on a regular basis. So it’s wonderful that you intend to be more present! That’s the best way to be seen and noticed. I hope that you keep meeting wonderful people here! =)

Mark Deuce

Nice to meet you Jack Hilkewich

Jack Hilkewich

Premton Kryeziu I do not have any good answers for you. I do not have an agent. I just entered a few contests and received some recognition from them, which led to my script being purchased. I only have 2 feature scripts under my belt and I think you need to have a few more before trying to get an agent but I am not an expert on that. Once I am done with my 3rd script I will enter it into some contests again and see if that will bring some attention to it.

Ashley Renee Smith Thanks! I will be posting more in the future and hopefully reading other's scripts and cheering them on.

Jack Hilkewich

Mark Deuce nice to meet you too!

J R O'Hara

Hi Jack! Great to meet you, too. I'm happy to do a script swap if that's something you want to do. I recently finished a screenplay that I'm very excited about, it's the most personal thing I've ever written. Anyway, reach out if you want to swap scripts. J R

Morne Patterson

Welcome back Jack!

Jack Hilkewich

J R O'Hara let's do this! I have a short film I wrote 35 years ago, recently found on an old floppy. I am trying to figure out if it's worth reworking or not. I could use some advice. I would love to read your script.

Morne Patterson thank you!

Pat Alexander

Hey @Jack Hilkewich great to have you back around! Your myriad experience working in the industry is invaluable around these parts!

Jack Hilkewich

Pat Alexander Thanks. If I can use any of my experience to help anyone here I will certainly try. I wouldn't have been able to do what I have done over the years without a helping hand from others.

J R O'Hara

Jack, Wow, a floppy! Send me a direct message and we'll arrange a swap.
