Happy weekend!
So lately, I've been juggling a few commercial projects, which has been interesting.
I love commercial projects where we have fun creating funny stuff.
On top of that, I've been working hard to get some funding for one of my comedies called "Pure Vortex", that I wrote last year about a guy who creates a fake band to get a visa.
Fingers crossed, I've been at it a long time!
But the big news is that I just finished a few days ago a sci-fi screenplay, that I've been working on for a couple of years, it's called "The Procedure."
It's a cyberpunk type story about a dystopian future where the wealthy exploit a futuristic medical procedure to live longer, a desperate father with a sick son gets help from a conflicted doctor to expose the corporate scandal and the system designed to keep the truth hidden.
I loved writing this one because I've been wanting to do a sci-fi for a long time, but ultimately gave priority to stories that were deemed more "commercially viable" and that I might maybe get to create sooner.
So I had a lot of fun indulging my crazy imagination on this one, even more than usual. Hope that I get to shoot this one one day!
Anyway what has everyone lese been up to while I was away?

I've been working on a lot of projects. I'm getting close to finishing a ghostwriting job, working on a feature spec script, and pitching projects right now.

Getting to the end of a screenplay and writing "Fade Out" isn't an easy thing to do Vital Butinar! And that's great that you got to let loose and exercise your imagination. Well done, sir!

I've worked on so many ghostwriting jobs I don't remember if it's the same one I told you about.
The pitching is going great. A production company is reading one of my feature scripts, and I got two short script requests recently.

Thank you Nick Phillips! Yeah it's awesome. You know I've been pretty lucky, because all the screenplays that I've written came out from start to finish in a relatively short time, granted I've always had to work on them later, but I'm kind of weird because before I outline and write, I work out everything in my head. Then I outline until I feel that I'm ready to write and then just write until I'm done.
But yeah I've been hoping for a long time that I'd have a chance to write a sci-fi like this.
It's funny because when I was a kid we lived in Africa and the only TV I had was VHS tapes, so the first coupe of films were Blade Runner and Back To The Future. These films had quite an influence on me and my view on film. :)

I actually don't have a plan yet, I supposed I'd want to make it at some point, but I'd need a substantial budget to produce it.
