Hi everyone,
My name is Kerry Kennard, known in some corners of music industry as a Percussionist/ Drummer. I’ve performed from Music theatre to Cruise ships - ie - Holland America Line (HAL), and performed on the road for a year.
I’ve been learning music for film on my own, one class at Eastern Kentucky University, and met Bear K. Last year, doing music for his Stage musicals - here at Stage 32.
The Film music page on website shows two other credentials- with Russell Landwehr and Gin - she wanted an Indian music piece for her indie Film.
I’ve made a lot of samples at SoundCloud - so feel free to check these out from the St. 32 profile.
I’ve read film Music books - which help know how emotion plays in scenes and transition scenes. “On the Track” is one of the better books with like … 75 % small scores and 25% business content - this is my breakdown. ;-)
It’s really good to learn from.
Ashley reached out this year and asked about Moderating - so you’ll see the Mod in the picture.
I Hope to help people with the knowledge I’ve gained so far in this music Journey the Lord has given / shown / revealed so far in my life.
Have a great Father’s Day weekend.
K. Kennard
Hey, Kerry Kennard. Happy Father's Day. What's your favorite instrument to use?

Hi, Kerry! I've crossed the ocean twice on ships. Once on HAL and once on a US Army ship. I have to say the HAL voyage was much more entertaining.

Maurice Vaughan - Drums are my main instrument; finished a Father's day Church service this morning; good grooves, even with the Click track. For Film, hmm ...it depends on the music I'm making. When I'm using Dorico Pro, I like adding Strings to certain pieces. From this last collaboration with the Nicodemi's - I heard a Marimba part on Shattered, and ... the change with the Marimba really makes the piece change , set into the chord / section of the piece. I added Vibes to a lot of those tracks on the Rhythm 'n' Keys Collaboration Instrumental EP - released back on 5/17 - a Friday. Drum set was used throughout the project, bringing rhythm when needed. I think one did not have drum set. I used some cool percussion sounds from the N.I. (Native Instruments) set for "Strange City". So, like I mentioned, it depends on the music being created. Seems most are percussion, Strings, and drum set for a shortlist.
P.S. to listen, read review, download, etc, these all are at the website (page): www.Kerry.Kennard.com/music

Jeffrey J. Mariotte - Great to meet you ! I would think so; :~) We should connect and share some of our stories at sea. If you crossed the ocean, you've prob. been at sea longer. HAL always flies us (musicians) to closest Port site. For Europe it was scheduled overnight flight, since of time change and when to get to the ship in the morning ... ugh. :~/ The nurses I met who were joining as well said to stay up all day. It was good advice; it was like a small adrenaline rush, with a small fade near the end - (Smiles - I use the words like Dr. Tim did; what a great educator I met at EKU).

Great to meet you Kerry! I too am new to the Mod Squad -- I was a drummer in high school, played snare in our marching band's drum line, so percussion is near and dear to my heart.

William Joseph Hill - nice to meet you as well.
I did Cyms and BD 3 last year.
Snare ! Nice … a lot more 16th notes - lol
I’m helping a few at Music & Arts now. Most are Concert snare and Drum Set.
I do a lot of drum set playing, as mentioned above.
I love listening to drums and strings instruments, Kerry Kennard. I went to the website, but it says Page Not Found.

Wow, Kerry Kennard! Incredible music! Some of my favorites are "Sci-Fi Series no strings," "Village Paint," and "Reflective Moments Final Send On."

Thank you, Sir Maurice. Yep, Reflective Moments is really nice - did take time to orchestrate it. Village Paint started with percussion from the Engineer; he's quite a good Engineer; placed with HBO Verve for one show ! $ :~)
