That's incredible news for the indie world, Richard "RB" Botto! The article says "Networking, important to any industry, is especially crucial in this one right now." Film industry events like Stage 32's Meetups and IND/EX are great for networking.
Indie film is starting to surge and, IMO, will for the foreseeable future. If you are an indie filmmaker of any kind at any level, this is the time to dial in, find partners (Stage 32 is the place to do that), and start marching toward your dream. Thanks for the share, Richard "RB" Botto.
Agreed, Maurice Vaughan. As I say often, all industries have a tribal component, but this one more than any other. Those who treat networking and relationship building as part of their job will reap the rewards. Same as it ever was.
Agreed, Sam Sokolow. Had calls with 2 execs yesterday. Both have their pedal to the floor when it comes to the pursuit of independent scripts and projects.
You're right, Richard "RB" Botto. I didn't take networking seriously back when I started screenwriting/in my early years of screenwriting, and I barely got anywhere with my scripts or any jobs.
Well, you're a shining example that you can not only change your thinking, Maurice Vaughan, but showing all how you reaped the benefits once you made that change.
When you have some time, Thea Touchton, I would love if you would share some frontline reporting on what you're hearing there. The optimism seems off the charts!
Agreed, Mark Deuce. This is one of many, many indicators that things have turned, especially in the indie film market. Now is the time to take those scripts out of the drawer and get to work.

Thanks, Richard "RB" Botto. I really started to focus on networking when you issued that challenge to the community during one of your AMAs.
