So very excited for this event! Got my pen and paper ready to take all the notes.
As an actor we're always told "make your own content," but a lot of us have no idea where to even start. Unless it's Stanislavsky, Meisner or Uta Hagen, getting behind the camera can seem daunting. The red button is record right?
My goal for this month is to finally green light that short film. I've written several shorts, and am gloriously halfway through with a feature (keep telling myself not to hate it), but these stories have just sat in my final draft. I think it's time that a few of those see the light of day.
I'm ready to learn what it takes to create content outside of social media. Let's go!

You got this, Ashley Ottesen! You will learn so much by doing it. My wife is an actor who began producing and directing 15 years ago and it's been amazing to watch her evolution. It's made her a better actor in the process.
I highly recommend award-winning short filmmaker Tash Ann's class on how to make an award-winning short - she's a wealth of knowledge and can help accelerate the goal of getting it done. Here's a link so you can check it out: https://www.stage32.com/education/search?term=Tash&h=filmmaking-class-ho...

Great goals, Ashley Ottesen ! I've hit that "I think I hate this" part in my first feature several times - hoping it's just part of the process. Excited to hear more about your horror film - which of your shorts are you hoping to have greenlit?

So many genres! I love that as a way to keep things fresh. I also jump around and I worry that it will hurt my branding. But seriously, there's so much possibility out there, I want to taste all of it.

Good luck Ashley Ottesen ! just remember that, as an actor, you're no stranger to hard work on crafting scenes, making choices that enhance them, working with fellow actors, etc. - enjoy the adventure! You're gonna rock it!
