Introduce Yourself : 1st Day in Stage32 by Jamel Herring

Jamel Herring

1st Day in Stage32

Hey everybody,

My name is Jamel Herring. I served in the United States Marine Corps for 9 years, completing two tours in Iraq. In 2012, I had the honor of representing the USA as an Olympian, and in 2019, I achieved my dream of becoming a boxing world champion.

I've always had a passion for film and storytelling. Growing up on Long Island, NY, I've witnessed countless stories—from comedy to drama—that I am eager to share. Now, I'm looking to connect with talented screenwriters and other creatives to help me bring these stories to life.

I'm excited to be part of this vibrant community and look forward to learning from and collaborating with you all. If you have any suggestions on who I should add to my network or tips on getting started, please feel free to reach out. I'm here to learn, share, and contribute.

Thanks for reading a bit on my passion and journey. Talk to you soon!

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome to the community, Jamel Herring. Thank you for your service. Congratulations on becoming a boxing world champion!

Stage 32 has a Screenwriting Lounge where you can meet other screenwriters, find screenwriting resources, ask questions, discuss things about screenwriting, make educational posts, and get feedback on things (loglines, scripts, etc.). Here's the link: www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting

I suggest adding people from all areas of the industry (producers, directors, screenwriters, actors, editors, etc.). You can search for them in the Browse Members section (www.stage32.com/people).

Jamel Herring Greetings Jamel, and welcome to the best community that can help your passions be fulfilled.

Check out a blog article that I wrote with Phil Hardy. It offers a great window onto how you can sell your scripts. Basically, it’s about forming relationships and building your network.

Hey Jamil! Welcome aboard! Awesome! And thank you for sharing your passion for film and storytelling. Most of all thank you for your service to our nation! Would love to hear more about your time in the military. Military service resonates with me because we served for 3 decades in the U.S. Army and would love to share our experience. I grew up in the Los Angeles Area and I too been surrounded by countless stories—from comedy to drama—that have deeply influenced me and fueled my desire to share them with the world.

We are professional actor, fitness model, and of course a U.S. Army veteran. My journey has been quite varied, and through it all, storytelling has remained a constant passion. Whether it’s through acting, public speaking, or my primary second career in IT/cybersecurity, I’ve always been drawn to the power of a good story.

I'm currently on the lookout as well for talented screenwriters and creatives who share our passions and can help us bring these stories to life. I believe in the magic of collaboration and the incredible things we can create together. So wanted to see if we can work on something together?

I'm currently working on an exciting new acting role we were chosen in Tombstone, Arizona. The film, titled "Historical Paranormal Lockdown," is set to premiere on TV in Fall 2024. I’ll be stepping into the shoes of an 1880 Saloon Owner, bringing the rich, ghostly history of the Wild West to life. Stay tuned for this captivating film
