Film/TV Blocking — learning a thing or two from 1970s BBC television

I found this short study (below) of screen blocking of three scenes from the legendary 1976 BBC miniseries "I, Claudius" to be insightful. I actually wanted a lot more. Recently I showed my two teenagers the 1957 film, 12 ANGRY MEN and was similarly struck by the brilliant blocking. And I agree with the video below, blocking seems to be a lost art-form, which I think is too bad.

It's amazing how something as subtle as an actor's placement can tell a whole story. I recently showed watched "12 Angry Men" and i was blown away by how the confined space.... & it was used so creatively.(:
