David Lynch Reveals Emphysema Diagnosis, Can’t ‘Leave the House’ or Direct in Person: ‘I Would Do It Remotely if It Comes to It’

This is so sad, but he still has the desire to work and it’s never been a straight path towards making a film, despite his reputation and longevity.

“He also discussed “Snootworld,” the animated film he began working on two decades ago with Caroline Thompson (“The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Edward Scissorhands”).

“Just recently, I thought someone might be interested in getting behind this, so I presented it to Netflix in the last few months, but they rejected it,” Lynch said. “Old-fashioned fairy tales are considered groaners: apparently, people don’t want to see them. It’s a different world now, and it’s easier to say no than to say yes.”

So there you go, even David Lynch has to suffer the word “No”, when pitching his projects.

We wish you well, Mr Lynch.

Lynch, Del Toro, Spike Lee, K Bigelow, DePalma... a bunch of big time filmmakers. You gotta be successful to get a "No" from main bosses at Netflix :)
