I saw Alien: Romulus, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice this month. Fantastic movies! So fun! I watched Brande Roderick's Horror Thriller Wineville yesterday (www.stage32.com/lounge/vip/Ask-Me-Anything-AMA-Friday-9-27-to-Saturday-9...). I like the movie, and I'm always happy to support indie filmmakers!

I saw the Nosferatu trailer today. Can't wait to see it, Wolf Man, and Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, which I read today wrapped filming!

Brandy Camille Funny (ironically) enough now that I write screenplays I don't actually go to theaters to see movies... It's all about streaming platform series drops for me now. Last movie I saw at the cinema was Dune 2. Series-wise The Penguin is my current obsession. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is likely the best fantasy production, EVER. Trigger Point is my latest BritBox addiction. Zack Snyder's Twilight of the Gods is pretty good. And for my clandestine ops fix The Old Man. What I have been anticipating the most is the HBO Dune series.

I didn't know Harold Perrineau had a daughter, Mike Childress. Kaos is on my watch list too. Jeff Goldblum is one of my favorite actors. My favorite Jeff Goldblum role is either Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park or David Levinson from Independence Day.

I've been watching a bit of this and that on television. I love watching at least one episode of everything that makes it to air so last week, I watched every drama (I'm not a huge sitcom person so didn't dive into those). The one that really got my attention was one from last year called The Irrational. I binged the entire first season this past week in-between catching up on other shows.

At this point, I do have a running ranking of the new shows. I've already taken some off my list to keep watching because they're not for me.

I'm also a OMITB fan though this current season is dragging for me a bit.

Movie-wise, the last one I saw was also Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with friends. I'm probably going to catch some others that are arriving to streaming over the next month and then go to a bunch in November including Wicked (I'm a HUGE fan of the musical).

My "breakfast cartoon" right now is FUTURAMA.

For my "solo show" I'm sort of testing the waters in a few places -- I watched a few eps of HANDMAID'S TALE and am somewhere between intrigued and disgusted, not sure if I'll finish season 1 or not. I watched the 1st ep of CASTLE ROCK and not sure if I like it or not, will watch ep 2 soon. Also been watching some movies the last few days to see stuff on Netflix and Hulu before they expire.

For the "show with the mrs", we're watching LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN because my dad shipped me my old DVD box sets.

Travis Seppala Castle Rock is stupendous, but I am a bit biased as a former Stephen King superfan...

Recently, I’ve been re watching the classic Breaking Bad—I know, a bit late, but it's one of those shows you can’t get enough of. As for films, I’m excited about checking out Dune: Part Two—the visuals in the first one were stunning, and I’m a sucker for epic storytelling.

I haven’t seen Only Murders in the Building yet, but your description has me curious, so I’ll definitely add it to my watchlist. And I totally get what you mean about practical effects—there’s something about them that CGI can’t replicate.

I'm watching "The Old Man" (since I am one) on FX. "Only Murders in the Building" (since I'm a contemporary with Steve Martin and Martin Short). Someone should start an "Old Geezers" network.

I am currently watching Person of Interest which didn’t originally run here in the UK but has recently become available through Prime Streaming. Thoroughly entertaining show and ahead of its time despite being released only 15 years ago.

Currently, week-to-week I'm watching- From S3 on MGM+, Rings of Power S2 on Prime, The Circle S7 on Netflix, Only Murders in the Building S4 on Hulu, All American Homecoming S3 on CW, and Last Week Tonight on Max. I also just finished binging Monster S2 on Netflix and The Perfect Couple on Netflix.

Ashley Renee Smith my home girl Sam was on The Circle a couple seasons ago and she won. And John Oliver is my jam! I thought when Disney redid The Lion King, they couldn't do any better than Rowan Atkinson as Zazu but John Olliver nailed it! And I love his political commentary!

Oooh good question! I'm on the last episode of The Perfect Couple. That intro is killer. So charismatic and creative. It hooks me every time.

"Monk" - I got the first season on DVD for my birthday, and I've already worked my way through half of it (every time I go visit my parents, we watch one episode per visit).

Hey Brandy!! Great question. To be honest, I had been searching for years and just got my hands on a 1997 feature produced in Australia called :"The Devil Game. " The title is very misleading. I was expecting a horror story surrounding the use of devil worship and evil. No. It was a detective story involving drug running in a small Aussie fishing town. It was actually a very good movie starring Jacqueline McKenzie and Guy Pearce. (Love his work.) and it held my attention throughout, but because of the deceptive title I may have passed it by. Thanks again Brandy!

Currently, "Bad Monkey." A simian hoot.

Season two of "Bad Sisters" starts soon. The fourth season of "The Morning Show" is not too far down the pike.

Also bingeing "The West Wing." Halfway through the final season.

Mike Childress I actually ended up giving up on CASTLE ROCK now, a couple episodes in. While I'm interested to see what the deal with "the kid" is at the jail, the pacing is just sooooo sloooooooow. I can't hang with it.

Travis Seppala Funny because I tend to gravitate towards faster-paced stuff, but love that series! One I found pretty slow-rolling, but still finished it, eventually, was The Handmaid's Tail. Did you and Maurice both end up bailing on that one?

I liked season 2 of Castle Rock more than the first season. Lizzy Caplan's version of Annie Wilkes was really fun!

Mike Childress and Maurice Vaughan -- I stopped watching at Ep 6 of Season 1 of Handmaid's Tale. a) I'm still not sure what I think of it, but I'm glad the amount of voiceover dropped significantly. b) my wife doesn't want me watching it saying she's appauled that with all the horrible shit in the real world that this show is basically a mirror of (like Shirea Law becoming more and more talked about and bigger possibility in places even like England and France where there's been some pretty heavy violence in the streets.. and Project 2025 being unsettlingly popular here in USA) that I (or anyone) would watch the show as if that sort of awful thing is entertainment.

Oh, I still have to catch up one of the saeson!

I'll probably keep watching Handmaid's Tale when I sign up for Hulu again, Mike Childress and Travis Seppala. It's slow-paced, but I think that's needed to build up to things in the show.

Hi @Brandy! I'm in NY and was actually surprised when I looked at my Letterboxd to check what I saw in the theaters last month. I'm finishing my first script, so I've been restricting my TV/streaming, but have been allowing myself to go to the theater (saw eight films in the theater in September). Recent faves are Cuckoo, Slingshot, and Megalopolis. My wife and I watch Only Murders and LOVE it! Coming up I'm also looking forward to Nosferatu, as well as Before (Billy Crystal, Judith Light), and the return of SILO!

I'm going through Slant Magazine's "100 Greatest Horror Movies" and watching all the ones I haven't seen already. I watched Mario Bava's Kill, Baby, Kill!, Argento's Tenebre and Opera, Wolf Creek, The Seventh Victim, Les Diabolique, and The Fall Of The House Of Usher. As for TV, I'm a OMITB fan, Frasier (the new one), while also watching reruns of classics like Murder, She Wrote.

The last movie I saw in the theater was Deadpool and Wolverine. The last movie I watched on streaming was The Thing. Am currently watching Only Murders In The Building and The Old Man. Just finished the series finale of Seal Team. Now watching new season of Tulsa King. And of course the O.G. broadcast shows L&O and SVU. Also started Colin In Accounts and You're The Worst because my therapist said I need less horror and more comedy in my life.

What caught my eye in 2024? Daisy Edgar-Jones delivered an outstanding performance in “Twisters.” “Fly Me to the Moon,” featuring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, is an absolute must-watch. Additionally, “Dune: Part Two” and “Ordinary Angels” are simply epic!

Hello Brandy and everyone in this thread! I'm in Abuja, Nigeria and currently going through a weird phase in my watching where I have all but stopped TV: terrible for a screenwriter, I know. But I am slowly going at '3 Body Problem'. I recently watched 'Where the Crawdads Sing' and liked it. I finally watched 'Atonement' and was terribly heartbroken. I've spent the past 3 years on a k-drama wave so I'm trying to go through 'Queen of Tears'. My To-Watch list is shamefully long, I must say. I've got a list of rom-coms and romance movies from across the world I'd like to watch: Spanish, Turkish, French and English.

Absolutely love "Only Murders in the Building" ! Also watching Tulsa King. Movie wise, haven't seen anything great in a while.

@Joanne I love Guy Pierce! I first got into his work from the remake of The Time Machine. But the version of "A Christmas Carol" that he did, wowee was it good! It was done as a limited series and it definitely turned the story that we've been told of Ebenezer Scrooge on a dark ear. Really great ensemble cast and I love the aesthetic. And Andy Serkis as one of the ghosts...that tells one all they need to know and that they need to watch it with haste lol

Brandy Camille I have been an admirer of Pearce's work for many years and I am most impressed how he can master a lead role in a feature and then be a character actor with a small part in another and if you didn't watch the credits or investigate his IMBD page you would never realize it was him. An example is the "The Road" starring Viggo Mortensen. Great flick BTW. The Scrooge mini series was terrific and a dark but enlightening tale retold. And of course he was great in the role! I just rewatched Orca after seeing it new in Theaters as a Jaws knockoff. But WHOA there, I remembered it being pretty good and Richard Harris and Charlotte Rampling gave great performances but my god, I have to say in all honesty,...it's better than Jaws. I'm serious. It made me cry. it made me feel. Sure we feel a lot during Jaws but it doesn't make us cry. When Harris foolishly slaughters a pregnant female whale, the Male watches helplessly as his mate and her fetus are slaughtered by a man. It's a revenge movie but you find yourself on the whale's side as he taunts the town pushing for a showdown with the man. it goes deeper. Harris's wife and child were killed by a drunk driver. He knows EXACTLY and I mean EXACTLY what the whale is feeling. The music is by Ennio Morricone who penned a haunting song called "We are One" that will leave you a helpless pile of tears on the floor. I am not kidding you. This one hits deeper than Jaws because this time the man is the monster.

I'm on my second script, which is a horror flick, so I've been watching a lot of A24.

I watch SLOW HORSES because the writing is excellent. I watch What We Do In The Shadows for its wit. ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING because it is just plain fun and so very greatly produced. And that is about it.
