Just to be clear, my comment was facetious. Television execs don't want anything intriguing. What they want is another replay of The Odd Couple. Good idea to work that into the pitch.

Matt - Just to be clear, I'm not kidding about working an Odd Couple angle into your pitch. Max could engage with a bubbly young physicist, his polar opposite, who assists him on his quest.

actually, funny you should bring this up, in ensuing episodes (were this to get on TV), there actually is an odd couple dynamic that develops between the protagonist and another character.
