Hiya stagers, new and old. I've been around Stage 32 for a number of years. First off, welcome to the new, and 'hi' again to the long timers, like me. Advice to the new: be active! Ask questions. Us long timers love to offer advice, feel helpful, make new friends, even just chat.
Sure, this site feels overwhelming. At least, it sure did to me. But poke around the lounges, see what kinds of topics might be of interest to you. If you don't see a thread that pertains to your interest, start one up. You'll be surprised to find that what you are interested in, or thinking about, others are too.
Make friends and connections! Really. It's easy. Click on someone's profile shot. Read their bio. If it looks like you might click, send them a network request. But PLEASE, send a brief note with your request to say 'hi' and why you want to join their network or have them as part of yours. HINT: I don't tend to accept network requests without an accompanying note, but with a note, I almost always accept.
About me? Well, way back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, my partner and I did something wild and crazy, media picked it up, it went viral and film studios and producers came a calling for life rights. We didn't know diddly about film rights, or media, or IP. I hadn't even been to Universal Studios (where you can ride the movies!). My partner and I might as well have been swimming in the Jaws pond until a friendly voice shot through the dark and steered me here: to Stage 32. I started lurking in the lounges, asking questions, and getting a lot of excellent advice. I was blown away by all the truly expert and professional people there are here, and how willingly they provide great (and frankly, valuable -- like the legal and IP rights -- advice, shared with me, for friendship).
To the long timers... ah, what can I say? It's been a long and challenging road, but always fulfilling, often rewarding. Sometimes there's been bumps. Mostly, I want to say, 'thanks for putting up with me!'
One more thing, and this is freaking huge, absolutely gigantic: you will get as much from Stage 32 as you put into it. Actually, that's not true: what you put in, what you contribute, multiplies.
We're all in this together.
Cheers, me mates!

Repeat Introducer. :D Excellent advice, Morgan Aitken! I didn't get a lot out of Stage 32 until I started being active. RB gave the community a challenge to be active during a live AMA.

Well put Morgan Aitken! It's a long, challenging, fulfilling road, but putting one foot in front of the other is always the best part!

Thank you for the advice, Morgan Aitken! Being someone new here -but not as old and wise- I'm sure I have a virtually clear path to take as a creator of original content (IP) who seeks representation and adaptation to the big screens and little consoles. Your advice sure gives me hope that I might find someone who can realize the full potential of my projects. I feel at home!
