I wanted to share this article about Spain. Spanish is going full Spain ahead in the battle to attract film & TV productions. The country is becoming a real production powerhouse. That goes studio and streamer Productions, as well as independent projects.
Spain Audiovisual Hub main areas of focus are (1) attracting foreign investments and shoots, (2) improving financial and tax instruments, (3) training talent and (4) regulatory reforms and the elimination of administrative barriers.
Training talent is where Stage 32 comes in! In fact, we are discussing on several levels with film commissions and private players in the independent film industry in Spain, as this represents a huge opportunity for Stage 32 and our educators to be involved with certification courses and training programs.
There are a lot of interesting numbers in the article, amongst others from the Parrot-ICEX report that says that Spain-originated content generated $5.1 billion (!) over the past four years and estimates it will generate $1.4 billion in global revenue in 2024.
Spain, apart from being a country with a wealth of different locations, offers great local production opportunities, as well as for international co-productions. It is also a top host of foreign productions making use of the attractive tax incentives, for which the production servicing sector is thriving. Tax incentives are available at a federal level, as well as some local levels, especially the autonomous regions of the Canary Islands, the Basque Country and Navarra.

Great share, David Zannoni! It's so exciting to see Spain building their production infrastructure and betting on the future of content - and content creators. What an exciting time to be in production all around the globe.
