Hi everyone! I am Josh. I wrote a script (a bleak, depressing, awful sci-fi that will leave you feeling empty inside - it's also pretty hopeful). I don't know what to do with it and I have absolutely NO connections to anyone in the industry. I like sci-fi, action, and drama. The composer Shiro Sagisu is brilliant. I think our species might be doomed, but that just gives us more to write and talk about so it's all good! I am waiting to add a real picture of me until I can think of a cool pose to be in - until then I have added a chunky cat as my profile picture; I also like fat, chunky cats. But anyway - nice to meet everyone!

Welcome to the community, Joshua Norton. Nice to meet you too.
You could post your logline, synopsis, and script on your profile. Producers search profiles on here for projects. Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your logline, synopsis, and script on your profile this way (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”): www.stage32.com/loglines

No problem, Joshua Norton. I was a clueless newbie once. Are you a Sci-Fi writer, or do you write other genres too?

I also like small city/town dramas.

Cool, Joshua Norton. I like to write small-town scripts. I think one reason is because I'm from a small town. I like to mix genres when I write scripts too. Do you ever mix genres?

Mixing genres is awesome - David Lynch is a great example of bringing in strange factors to small town settings. Combos that I think are particularly interesting is grounded, military action with fantastical elements (like Metal Gear Solid) - or small-town dramas with an undertone of cosmic horror.
David Lynch is a phenomenal director/writer/producer, Joshua Norton! I've heard of Cosmic Horror, but I haven't written one yet. I want to. I played Metal Gear Solid growing up. I want to see a Metal Gear Solid movie!

Welcome to Stage 32, Joshua Norton! The best way to network here on Stage 32, is to be involved and active within the lounges on a regular basis. You can find them all by clicking here: https://www.stage32.com/lounge
I also suggest that you replace the headshot on your account with an actual photo of yourself. It's always easier to network with people when they can connect a face to a name. It adds a personal touch that can be so important online. =)
