advice or piece of wisdom that has stuck with you or changed your journey? don't overthink it and don't think that it will go the way you think it will, it will have a life of its own. I have this story of a guy who finds a ring that lets him go into peoples dreams and he solves crimes that way.

That's great advice, Gregory Barone! It's like when I outline a script. I figure out what will happen in the script during outlining, but sometimes things happen unexpectedly when I write the script, and I go with it. Your story sounds interesting!

Gregory Barone The piece of advice that sticks after I've done everything else to avoid it and do something else is: listen to your own advice. Sigh. Just throw up words on the screen (paper) and edit later.

Nicely said, Gregory Barone! Your characters have a way of redirecting the story quite often if they're written richly enough. The over thinking part comes after the first draft, LOL. Just write, and edit after. BTW, very interesting concept in that story of yours.

John Mezes Thanks. This also includes movies that well-known directors have worked on, and things don't go as planned, and the movie takes a life of its own being that they have a mass of people working with them to make the movie. You like my idea? I'm still working on it and hope to make it a book, if you like that, you'll like my giant killer story.
