Hi, everyone. Sharing this. I worked with filmmaker/director Susan Ruth on her film, THE FIRST, as a storyboard artist. Was hired to troubleshoot some passages in the film, drawing boards to make sure that scenes transitioned flawlessly and the director has a visual reference, to avoid any challenges or obstacles when shooting scenes. I work in both pre and post production on film projects/film shoots and enjoy the collaboration with film directors, when drawing storyboards for them. Lots of luck to all the film directors in the group and happy holidays. All the best in 2025.
Congratulations on the selection, Susan, Rich Terdoslavich, and everyone who worked on THE FIRST! You said, "Was hired to troubleshoot some passages in the film." That's interesting. Was the film planned out, the director had some issues with it, then she hired you to draw the storyboards to troubleshoot some passages?

There were scenes in the script that needed boards to figure out how the shots were going to be set up. I worked it out and everything clicked. It was great working with her and looking forward to seeing the film. It is making the rounds at film festivals.

Thanks, Maurice!
You're welcome, Rich Terdoslavich. Thanks for explaining. I might start making storyboards for my spec scripts. Hope THE FIRST does great at the festivals! I'm looking forward to watching it!

No sweat, Maurice. If you need boards or concept art , you can message me. I did this for Whiteshell Films. I will message you with info. Regarding festivals, I believe it’s doing great. I think Susan won a few awards. I hear you. I am very psyched to see the film and see how the boards match up with the shots. Just received a few scripts from other filmmakers and I am breaking down the scenes to see how many boards will need to be illustrated.
