Filmmaking / Directing : Variety's worst films of the year by Sam Sokolow

Variety's worst films of the year

I haven't seen too many "worst films" lists but Variety dropped their today. Have you seen any of these films and do you agree or disagree with Variety's scribes? https://variety.com/lists/worst-movies-of-2024/owen-gleibermans-5-worst-...

Variety critics pick the worst movies of 2024, from 'Rebel Moon: Director's Cut' to 'Poolman,' 'Dogman' and 'The Mouse Trap.'
Xochi Blymyer

I don’t think I’ve seen any of these! perhaps will not now.

Norman Welthagen

LOL. Poolman was terrible, despite Pine's charm. So much of the plot just didn't make sense. I do however think they were a bit harsh on Reagan. There were MANY more worse films than that.

António Monfort

I haven`t seen none of the movies but I would like to see.

Richard "RB" Botto

Goes to show how subjective all this can be. I've seen LISA FRANKENSTEIN on a top 10 list or two.

Dan MaxXx

I really hate worst film lists, mainly cause friends have worked on some and nobody intentionally wants to spend months & years and see crap final results. Havent said that, the worst film Ive seen in 2024 was last week. Kraven. Total junk and it was directed by JC Chandor!

Alan Brewer

Haven't seen any of them! :)

Dan MaxXx - I have some major Marvel universe friends who still show up for the first showings and they said KRAVEN was unwatchable. They'd usually praise The Hulk going to the liu so I'm gonna skip that one. But I agree - everyone who works on each and every film puts their heart and soul into it and hopes for - and expects - the best. I just read an interview with Brian DePalma who said all of his classics were panned at first, from Sacrface to Dressed To Kill. Time can be a salve for some art.
