Embracing Unexpected Opportunities In Your Career

In today’s blog, Lee Shargel (author, screenwriter, and executive producer at FILMWORKS LSD LLC) talks about embracing unexpected opportunities in your career. If you’ve embraced an unexpected opportunity before, feel free to post about it in the blog’s comments. www.stage32.com/blog/embracing-unexpected-opportunities-in-your-career-3951

I learned final cut editing software by doing wedding videos; then I got a call from a post production facility; they were looking for a dailies editor. I had a week to show bosses I knew what I was doing. They were using Avid software and the interface was similar to Final Cut. Anyways, I impressed bosses and they hired me full-time. Made more $$$ than freelance filmmaking.

That's great, Dan MaxXx! Congratulations! I learned editing to make sizzle reels for my scripts and my game show. I'm still learning how to edit. Who knows? It might lead to some editing jobs in the future.
