I had a pitch session today with David McInerney and if you are looking to fully understand what a pitch needs to be, then book a pitch session with him. He gave it to me straight, concise and quickly understood my voice and mind. I don't come from this world of writing, I am transitioning careers and in my industry a writer must be as pragmatic as possible and leave no trace of themselves in it. My script is the opposite, but my pitch was very much in my comfort zone and I was explaining my script like I would have explained a non profit manual or affidavit. And without David's advice, I may have continued to do that. He opened my mind completely and for that I am truly thankful. So, if you're new(ish) at this and think you might be in your own way, book your pitch session with David McInerney, you won't be sorry.

That's so great Maria Brogna when someone is real and doesn't sugarcoat the truth. It helps us immensely when we are going into something completely out of our comfort zone.

Debbie Elicksen absolutely. It falls in that "work smarter not harder" place for a writer like me. My day job doesn't allow for whimsy and must be focused for a specific audience that isn't there to hear a story. I'm thinking this might be the perfect chance to let the creative side forward instead of behind the scenes.
