Screenwriting : Post Review of Script - What now? by Steve Johnson

Post Review of Script - What now?

I had a couple of reviews of my script and received valuable feedback. Whilst a majority of what I had was strong, there were a couple of areas that required improvement. I took all the feedback and worked hard at closing all the gaps until I was happy with the balance.

What do others do now? Do you go back to the same execs for a secondary review? Or go get some new ones? What about taking it beyond the review stage?

I start pitching my script to producers, directors, etc., Steve Johnson. And I post it on my profile. Producers search profiles on here for projects. I sold four short scripts to a producer in 2020 that way (and by networking).

Some members do go back to the same execs for a secondary review, and I've thought about doing it.

Is it ready?

Getting feedback from peers to paid means you know it's not right... and think of the overall budget of the project. Are you ready to write that check? If you're not, then it needs adjustments and more feedback.

Great questions as I am in the same boat. Also, do you know if someone read your script on this platform or do they have to contact you. thanks

It depends on your goals! If you’re looking to see if your revisions hit the mark, going back to the same execs can be helpful since they know where you started.
