Introduce Yourself : Hello all. by David Dicaire

David Dicaire

Hello all.

Greeting from Southern Ontario. The wind is howling, the sky is glloomy, and the rain is imminent. It sounds like a good opening for a screenplay. I am a writer of stories and setting the tone and the mood immediately in your story is of utmost importance. Happy writing, creative nation, and catch you on the greasy side.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, David Dicaire. We might get rain tomorrow and Monday. I can't wait. It's great writing and sleeping weather. How are you doing?

Leonardo Ramirez 2

Hey David Dicaire - always good to see you here. And I can sympathize - it's been storming here since 4am and they're talking tornadoes. I tried taking our dog Duchess out for a quick walk and she wasn't having it. Hope you are doing well.

David Dicaire

Hey Maurice Vaughan. I am well. How are you? How is the writing going? Don't you just love Introduce Yourself Weekend?

David Dicaire

Hello Leonardo Ramirez. Always good so see you as well. Duchess sounds like a very keen dog. Hope you are doing well. Give your dog a big hug from me. I love dogs. Almost every screenplay that I write has a canine in it. LOL.

Maurice Vaughan

Yep, love IYW, David Dicaire. Glad you're well. I'm doing fine. I'm making progress on my scripts. What are you working?

Leonardo Ramirez 2

You and me just became best friends David Dicaire. I love dogs. Duchess' companion (Tinkerbell) just crossed the rainbow bridge last month and we miss her dearly. Duchess is getting all the love now. She's also my writing companion and loves to sit under my desk when I write.

David Dicaire

Glad to hear that you are making progress on your scripts, Maurice Vaughan. Last week, the muse was turned on full power, and I started a dozen screenplays. It was wild. Since then, every day, I work on each one a little bit of a time. They are a cross-section of genres.

David Dicaire

Sorry for your loss, Leonardo. The best writing companion anyone can have is a dog. Too bad they can't read and critique your work.

Leonardo Ramirez 2

Thanks David Dicaire. I need to try reading it to her and see how she reacts.

Maurice Vaughan

Thanks, David Dicaire. A dozen is a lot of scripts! That's really impressive! Congratulations!

David Dicaire

That would be an interesting experiment Leonardo Ramirez. Let me know how it turns out if you actually go through with it.

David Dicaire

Yes, a dozen is a lot of scripts. Thanks.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, David Dicaire. Are they features, shorts, etc.?

David Dicaire

Well, Maurice Vaughan, they are all full-length with the possible exception of one of them. I only have one scene written so not quite sure where it is going to go.

Maurice Vaughan

Cool, David Dicaire. Looking forward to hearing what they're about when you're ready to share!

David Dicaire

Lol. Well, let's see. Patsy's rules is a psychological thriller. Crackdown is an Action. Johnny Lee and Arnold is a drama. Nerd Reality is a drama. RT-14, is a cop buddy. Home is a fantasy. The Daughter in law is a comedy. Cajun Moon is a coming of age. Kill or Be Killed is an action. Mommy's Baby is a horror/comedy. Weird Stuff is horror. Coasting is a thriller.

Maurice Vaughan

They all sound interesting from the titles, David Dicaire, especially Crackdown, Weird Stuff, and Coasting.

David Dicaire

Thanks Maurice Vaughan.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, David Dicaire. Enjoy the weekend and working on your scripts!

Amanda Toney

Great to have you here David, what types of genres and stories inspire you?

David Dicaire

Hello Amanda Toney. Hope all is well. Good question. I like pretty much all genres and like well-written, well-told stories.

Nick Phillips

David Dicaire

Always nice to hear from you Nick Phillips. Hope all is well.
